The Mission Inn Bridal Boutique Recap

Bridal Hot List recently attended the Bridal Boutique hosted by the beautiful and historic Mission Inn located in Riverside, California.  The fabulous hotel put on a grand boutique featuring various reception locations and their picturesque chapel.  Each room was decorated by a different vendor and offered multiple selections in decor, cake, music, attire and everything in between!

The first stop was the Music Room which offered the grandest decor.  The hall was elaborately adorned in gold while the tables were set with blue accents and white bouquet centerpieces.  In the middle of the hall,  a wedding gown with a corset as sparkly and grand as the hall itself commanded the attention of all who entered.

Next we were off to the Spanish Art Gallery.  This reception room was smaller and decorated in gold with black accents.  The centerpieces were black candelabras dripping in crystals, just divine!

We then traveled to the courtyard where we mingled with a mock bride and groom, styled in a classic tux and lace gown.  Also present, Casey’s cupcakes – the resident bakery and Cupcake Wars winner.  Trust me when I say they live up to the title!

In the afternoon it was time for a mock ceremony in the St. Francis Chapel.  A string/ piano trio played traditional wedding themes as the faux bride and groom exchanged quick vows.  It provided an inspiring glimpse of the romantic and intimate potential of this ceremony venue.

The next two reception rooms were the smallest and each provided a different atmosphere.  The first definitely gave off the party vibe with light projections on the walls, loud music on a central dance floor and a photo booth that was begging to be tried!  The next stop gave us more of an elegant feel.  The room was full of flowers which made it smell delicious and the colors were soft and pastel.  Both were beautiful.

The final stop, and my favorite was a trip to the hotel’s private Spa.  We received a guided tour of the tranquil facility and learned about pre-wedding day packages for the bridal party and the newlyweds.  To top it off, we all got complimentary chair massages!  It was the perfect way to end a day of wedding fun.

Our over all experience at the Mission Inn was absolutely inspiring.  We saw scores of beautiful flower arrangements and bridal fashions.  Our taste buds were excited by treats from multiple bakeries and we fantasized about spending the day at the luxurious Spa.  The Mission Inn is one of those places that can inspire wedding day dreams even if they are in the distant future.  I recommend that any future bride visit a wedding boutique to find inspiration for your special day.

From Steve of Colorful Snapshots

Take Time to stop and smell the roses on your wedding day. This ‘Timeless’ Style Wedding shoot was inspired by the idea to remind every bride & groom to take TIME to stop and enjoy the moment. Freeze time and take in your beautiful day; after what seems as thousands of hours of planning and making sure every detail is picture perfect, when the big day finally comes, it seems to be over with a blink of an eye. Our inspiration shoot was located in San Juan Capistrano at the Hamilton Oak Winery, with the lovely orange groves as the back drop and the blue skies above us. Color palette was easily selected based on natural elements of earth tones of brown and cream with pops of rose, teal and blue. Aleah from A la Carte flowers created a romantic bouquet for the gorgeous bride whom looked as if she was painted into the setting. The colorful florals blended in beautifully with the whimsical table setting created by Jake Duke Studios. Large vintage clocks and chandeliers were hung and styled the lounge area under the giant oak tree that created a relaxing atmosphere. The charming dessert bar was brought to life by the very talented Melissa of Sweet Missy’s Cookies and Lisa of Cupcakes by Lisa, they not only looked incredible but they were delicious too! Colorful Snapshot Photography captured each scene of the day beautifully freezing each detail to be remembered as ‘time passes’ ever so quickly.

Rehearsal Dinner from HornBlower Cruises and Events

It seems like summer is passing by quickly, and it has been a gorgeous one so far. All the lovely soirées which I find in my inbox each day and drool over for hours, has me always smiling. Oh, how I love summer. Weddings galore! Do you know what else I love? I go totally crazy in love for a good rehearsal dinner. Mostly one that involves an incredibly stunning yacht and so utterly breathtaking views. Sound amazing or what? I am thinking yes!  I am talking about rehearsal dinners from HornBlower Cruises & Events. This is not  your typical rehearsal dinner at some fancy restaurant. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some fanciness, but this rehearsal dinner just got nautical.  Yep, totally nautical. Not to say, you have to be a a lover of boats or anything. But just a fan of constant ocean views surrounding you on all sides, gorgeously delicious food, entertainment, and oh so romantic sunsets. This is my kind of rehearsal dinner.  An elegant and lovely affair hosted at one of the most scrumptious spots in Southern California. Newport Beach, California.

IMG_7517

Bar Champagne

Imagine sitting at your rehearsal dinner with your love, your friends and family close to you, while you take a sweet journey around the Newport Beach Harbor, enjoying iconic spots, and amazing views of the Pacific Ocean. How about a romantic walk with your sweetie? Hand in hand, you walk around the gorgeous fleet, and find that perfect spot on one of the stunning decks to enjoy the sunset together. Romantic right? I mean, can you say nautical romance?

IMG_8985

The romance does not stop with sunsets and all.  The evening is bright with the twinkling of the stars, and gorgeous night views of the harbor. Take a step on the top deck with the one you love, and stare out to the open sea with the stars above. It keeps getting better right? I think so. This cruise is amazing and just perfect for you and your guests as you begin your lives together.

HornBlower Cruises & Events invites you to step aboard one of their luxurious yachts, and allow them to take you on an unforgettable cruise around the beautiful Newport Beach Harbor and enjoy a night of fine dining, dancing, and incredible ocean views. All enjoyed with your friends and family. If that sounds oh-so-fabulous to you, then consider HornBlower Cruises & Events for your rehearsal dinner. Your  rehearsal dinner all gorgeously delivered to you by HornBlower Cruises and Events in beautiful Newport Beach, California.

Wedding Wednesday: Same Sex Wedding by Great Officiants

On this fabulous Wedding Wednesday, I am thrilled to share an incredible milestone in California.  Two weeks ago on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, The Defense of Marriage Act was found to be unconstitutional. Meaning, the law barring the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages legalized by the states, is unconstitutional. Many had been standing by eagerly waiting for these results. When the results came in,  cheers of victory were heard all around. What a perfect day for this to occur! Wedding Wednesday never looked better. On today’s Wedding Wednesday I wanted to share something very special.  One of the many couples who have been long waiting for this very important decision, finally had the chance to legally marry. This couple had been waiting for thirteen years to stand in front of their friends and family, and share their love. You can imagine the joy and happiness when the results came in. Pure excitement. It makes me happy when two people who love each other can now become married in the state of California. Great news indeed.  Four hours after the decision, this couple was legally married. They were married by Alan Katz of Great Officiants in Long Beach, California.  So in love, that they could not wait to finally be married.

Here is a video of their story:

On Wednesday, June 26, 2013 Toni and Carol were legally married.  Happiness, joy, laughter, and all other adjectives describing a good time.  Congrats to the lovely couple! I am totally smiling right now. Yep, smiling from ear to ear. Ah, what a wonderful day indeed. My wedding loving heart is overjoyed and in full gear. Nothing but love here. Wedding Wednesday is amazing! Totally in love.

If you are a couple who has been waiting to get legally married, then do not wait any longer, and head to Long Beach, California and stop by the Great Officiants.  They will issue you a marriage license and perform a ceremony for you.

10 California Locales for your Wedding & Honeymoon

If you currently live in the Golden State, are originally from Cali, or have always wanted to visit, there is no better place to have your wedding or honeymoon than right here! These 10 California Bridal Hot Spots are sure to entice you to at least book a trip to do some wedding or honeymoon venue ‘research’!

1. South Bay Sizzle – Redondo Beach, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach

Combined, these beach towns create the ultimate Southern California experience. With its ritzy shops, luxury hotels, and hot bods on the volleyball sand courts, Manhattan Beach doesn’t disappoint if you’re looking for an ‘as seen on TV’ beach scene! Check out Shade Hotel for a possible wedding venue. Hermosa Beach is a bit more organic, being the location of choice for local surfers. Redondo Beach, or more appropriately Redondo Pier, is our own little Coney Island featuring an arcade, paddle boats, ice cream treats, and an open seafood market with live creatures!

2. Victorian Romance in San Luis Obispo

Enjoy tea for two in the famous Madonna Inn, named after local pioneer, Alex Madonna. The Victorian architecture and turn of the century gardens & décor will inspire you to indulge in your harlequin fantasies! Oh, and did I mention they have themed hotel rooms? Go to brunch at The Apple Farm, an old time favorite spot with mouthwatering American cuisine. For a daytime excursion, head South to See Canyon to pick up fresh apples of multiple varieties! A wedding at the Madonna Inn and planned weekend here for your guests is sure to be unique.

3. Its Always Sunny in San Diego

Treat your honey to a Padres game at the gorgeous PetCo ballpark, just steps to the famed Gaslamp district. Its basically the Vegas strip of Southern California. Grab some drinks & dinner, then dance the night away! Save the Zoo and Sea World for the family trip.

4. Cozy little Cabin for 2 in Big Bear

Great for summer lovin’ or a wintertime romp in the snow, Big Bear is worth the gorgeous drive up the mountain. Cool Cabins of Big Bear offer themed cabins based on your tastes. You can go fishing, hiking, and boating in the summer, or hit the slopes in the winter! For a truly intimate or family only wedding, this would be a beautiful setting. You can rent a huge cabin with 7 or 8 rooms with a large yard area for the ceremony (if its snowing, in front of the fire hearth) or book a few cabins nearby each other.

5. Mission Style Fun in Santa Barbara

My friend got married at the Santa Barbara Courthouse in 2009 and to this day, it is still my favorite wedding location. The early California-Spanish architecture is truly inspiring, and the city charges only a minimal fee for use. Visit the Santa Barbara Mission, the Santa Barbara Courthouse, and boutique shopping on State Street.

6. Go Glamping (Glamorous + Camping) at El Capitan Resort

A 5 minute drive up the 101 North takes you to the hidden and best kept secret of Santa Barbara, El Capitan Resort! Rustic, spacious canvas tents set up with plush beds, lamps, and bedside tables adorn the campsite, complete with nearby communal bathrooms and a grocery/gift shop and café. Get married in Santa Barbara, then honeymoon at El Capitan. If your wedding party is the camping type, there is a huge Yurt that appears to be available to rent for large events. Be sure to book your yurt & tents well in advance!

7. Wine Tasting in Paso Robles

Treat your senses to the delights of the vine in the popular Paso Robles wine country. The weather is just perfect for tasting outdoors while overlooking generations of old vines. Wineries are always a lovely place to get married as well, since there’s tons of space, delicious food & wine pairings, and gorgeous views as far at the eye can see….

8. Leave Your Hearts in San Francisco

This cultural hub always is and always has been at the cutting edge of entertainment, arts, cuisine, shopping, and trends. Not to mention it is chock-full of significant historical sites. Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Haight-Ashbury, and Ghiradelli square….need I say more??

9. Sonoma Valley/ Dry Creek Vineyards

Head even further up the coast to Sonoma Valley and Dry Creek (take that chocolate with you) to sample some of the best wines in the world! Sit in world-class tasting rooms overlooking massive vineyard estates, making friends with tourists from around the world and sometimes on a lucky day, the owner of the estate drops by for a visit!

10. Peace Out – Venice Beach, Santa Monica, Marina Del Rey

These three areas have no shortage of fabulous hotels, exciting nightlife, and million dollar yachts! If your wedding party is the big-city type, this is the place for you. Between The Erwin hotel, Shutters, The Huntley, The Fairmont, and The Ritz Carlton Marina Del Rey, you’ll be sitting pretty on your big day and afterward! The nautically inclined can book a wedding on a yacht and cruise through the Marina during your ceremony and reception. Venice Beach and Santa Monica have tons of sightseeing and famous landmarks for you and your group to tour.

Let this humble list inspire you to begin researching and designing your big day & tomorrows in sunny, fantastic California!

Palm Springs Wedding from Perfectly Made Weddings

Palm Springs will forever be a favorite destination of mine. Being as I am a total Cali girl, growing up with the beach, the mountains, the dessert, and all the fabulous weather all year round, this wedding is a total love. It’s that magical combo of sunshine and glamour which really brings me to this fabulous destination. That is why today I am overjoyed with this gorgeous Palm Springs wedding.  It has all the details that has my heart in total overdrive.  I say all of this because their heartfelt, desert nuptials have me trying to dig up adjectives worthy of their sweet ceremony and cozy reception – but I keep falling short of words that will really do it all justice. Thankfully, the images from Jennifer Yount Photography can express it all.

This couple has seriously stolen my heart. I’m in love with them for so many different reasons, but mainly because they seem to be the type of people you want to be around all the time. I have been part of the planning of weddings for many couples, but I have to admit, I have never seen a kind of love like this one. Not just love between the two love birds, (oh THAT is just a bucket full of unconditional love), but the love that is between the couple and their guests. That love is out of this world.  I have never seen such love and joy shared with all that were present. I myself felt like I was part of the family as everyone was so open with their love. It was wonderful! I had the pleasure to help plan and coordinate this lovely wedding.  Perfectly Made Weddings, together with the sweet and fun loving couple, created a unforgettable day. Working with some incredible vendors, this gorgeous wedding had it all. Set at the beautiful Le Vallauris Restaurant  located in the heart of downtown Palm Springs, California, this wedding brought together traditions with a touch of  simple chic.  The couple really wanted to incorporate Jewish traditions into their wedding.  From the Tisch, to the challah blessing, the traditions were done so beautifully. The bride wanted something simple yet elegant for her wedding day. A  beautiful chuppah with stunning drapery and white florals was the center of it all at their ceremony. White flowers, candles, and twinkle lights decorated the reception.   Besides all the amazing ambiance set for this lovely couple and their wedding, the whole day was full of energy. From the moment the guests arrived, to the last guest leaving, there was constant joy, laughter, and energy. My favorite part? In all honesty, I really enjoyed each and every moment of this wedding. Each element brought it’s own unique and special detail, which was simply amazing. I have to say that this has been one of the best weddings I have been part of. Judy and Rob together with their guests really made it effortless. The location, the food, the decor, and all the gorgeous details were just made for these two.
Congratulations to Judy and Rob!

Great Gatsby Glamour from California Wedding Day’s Urban Unveiled

Our Great Gatsby inspiration continues here at BHL. Can you tell we are a bit obsessed with The Great Gatsby? Yep,  it is all we are talking about these days. What makes our day even more glamorous and we hope yours too, is a look into a fabulous event we recently attended. We are talking luxurious, charming and elegant details all wrapped around our love for weddings. Two of our favorites together in one gorgeous venue? That’s right.  California Wedding Day’s Urban Unveiled event in Los Angeles, California took place at the breathtaking venue of Vibiana. The perfect setting where the 1920s meets today’s modern bride.  Oh what a fabulous evening it was. An evening spent immersed with all the glitz and glamour that some of the most exclusive collection of wedding professionals have to offer. All surrounded by the stylish 1920s elements with rich black and white, luxurious muted metallic colors,  and all the diamonds and pearls. Get ready to get a little sophisticated and all glammed up, because you are about to see some pretty gorgeous lovelies.

Even though it is a gloomy day here in Southern California, we have a shining new bright talent to introduce to you today. It is obvious that we love weddings, and all there is with them. We are excited to share the very talented and lovely Marianne Lozano Photography. You will see that each image Marianne snaps is so magical. Can you feel all the love just bouncing off these gorgeous wedding photos? We can not stop smiling. Cheek to cheek.

About Marianne Lozano Photography

Marianne Lozano’s visionary, focused, editorial style has won the hearts of clients, designers and art directors around the world. At first glance, Marianne seems reserved and contemplative, quietly observing her environment and waiting for the next perfect moment to capture. When her emotional stories are frozen in time, it’s done in a seemingly effortless manner with an urbane sense of style, composition and focus that is evident in people who were born to take pictures. As you get to know Marianne, a confident, independent and warm human being with a lovely sense of humor is revealed.

Born in the Philippines, Lozano grew up with a loving, supportive family who encouraged her creativity and natural talent. She went on to study at the prestigious De La Salle University Manila, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science as well as an MBA. But it was not until 2002, when she relocated to the United States and was exposed to all the opportunities and new ideas within this wonderful culture that Lozano realized she was truly meant to be a professional photographer. Here, she studied at the nationally respected commercial photography program at Santa Monica College, and since then has built a name and reputation as a photographer with a refined style and a distinctive signature quality all her own.

Her artistry, focus and direction as a professional photographer has earned her an elite group of clients, event planners and agents, booking local and international assignments throughout the year. She is regularly featured in noteworthy publications like Angeleno and Mojeh Magazine and she recently worked on a photo shoot for Bvlgari and Guess 30th Anniversary events.

An avid traveler and adventurer, Lozano’s most recent photographs in 2012 include trips through Italy, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and a trek to the Himalayas. Her love for travel and new experiences continue to develop her creative eye and give her a broader perspective on relationships and the immeasurable stories the world has to offer. Her well-traveled viewpoint and natural talent bring still images to life by telling a story without words. Marianne’s sense of humor, exuberance and refined style has attracted an incredible following.

Personal Stylist, Susie Grossman styled this beautiful bride with an angelic yellow, lace detailed Maggie London dress.  For a pop of color, coral colored Charles David “Icon” sandals were added.   We are in love with this adorable dress, and those shoes. Stunning!

To top it all off with a pair of darling Kate Spade Earrings and a gorgeous headband by Tasha, is just perfect.

To complete the yellow laced romantic ensemble, beauty stylist Sarah Zaret creates a fun bridal shower makeup look. She chooses the gorgeous coral color as her inspiration. Coral crush is all the rage!  It exudes happiness and sunshine, and looks great on everyone.  To create the coral crush look, Sarah used Bobbi Brown’s Shimmer Brick and cream blush for cheeks and eyes.  For lips she used the new Glossy Lip Stain from YSL, and for a bold brow look,  she used Anastasia.
