Two Brides, One Love: Engagement Session from Michelle Lacson Photography & Tamrish Events

Wedding Wednesday is simply gorgeous today! I am tickled pink for this beautiful and incredible engagement session. At BHL we were thrilled with the recent Supreme Court decision regarding same-sex marriage. In celebration of this awesome result, we thought to peek into what true love looks like. A love which has been waiting for a significant time to express itself in the most beautiful of ways. A love which screams L-O-V-E.   We are in love with this beautiful couple and their stunning engagement shoot. Tamrish Events together with Michelle Lacson Photography  was on hand to style, design, and capture each and every lovely moment. If you do not believe us when we say O-M-G, then browse through the the amazing photos and see what we are raving about.

From Michelle Lacson Photography and Tamrish Events

This ombré palette photo shoot was spearheaded by photographer Michelle Lacson and Hoofrish Patel of Tamrish Events, with artistic complements by numerous area wedding professionals.

The shoot was inspired by a beautiful couple who have been awaiting the legalizing of same sex marriage in the state.  Both the brides dreamt of a feminine and soft wedding design.

To create this look, Tamrish Events used soft feminine colors in shades of peach and buttercream.  Also used is a recurring motif of the butterfly (by My Butterfly Heaven on Etsy). The vision of the butterflies symbolized the emergence of a beautiful thing after struggles.  The dreams of these couples can finally take flight.

The soft and feminine design came together perfectly at the Pasadena Museum of History.  The fabulous florals by Centia Batz of Petal Floral are beyond gorgeous.  She achieved the perfect feminine feel and ombré color with cafe au lait dahlias, peach peonies, carmel antique roses and icelandic poppies to name a few blooms.  They are framed by a backdrop of exquisite linens custom designed by Designer Specialty Linens to evoke the soft garden atmosphere.  The table top comes to life with rentals from Town and Country Event Rentals, including the elegant ghost chairs.  The extremely decadent and elegant cake is from Cake it or Leave it.

The two beautiful brides were ecstatic in their gowns by Lovella Bridal, jewelry by Stella and Dot by AJ Stout.  Hair and makeup by Melissa Anne.  Waveform Events lit up the night with their state of the art LED up lights.

The team of wedding professionals succeeded in creating a feminine yet elegant and chic atmosphere.

This shoot represents an elegant and chic style, incorporating touches of vintage.  Perfect for two brides looking for the clean, refined yet feminine look for their wedding.

Wedding Wednesday: Same Sex Wedding by Great Officiants

On this fabulous Wedding Wednesday, I am thrilled to share an incredible milestone in California.  Two weeks ago on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, The Defense of Marriage Act was found to be unconstitutional. Meaning, the law barring the federal government from recognizing same-sex marriages legalized by the states, is unconstitutional. Many had been standing by eagerly waiting for these results. When the results came in,  cheers of victory were heard all around. What a perfect day for this to occur! Wedding Wednesday never looked better. On today’s Wedding Wednesday I wanted to share something very special.  One of the many couples who have been long waiting for this very important decision, finally had the chance to legally marry. This couple had been waiting for thirteen years to stand in front of their friends and family, and share their love. You can imagine the joy and happiness when the results came in. Pure excitement. It makes me happy when two people who love each other can now become married in the state of California. Great news indeed.  Four hours after the decision, this couple was legally married. They were married by Alan Katz of Great Officiants in Long Beach, California.  So in love, that they could not wait to finally be married.

Here is a video of their story:

On Wednesday, June 26, 2013 Toni and Carol were legally married.  Happiness, joy, laughter, and all other adjectives describing a good time.  Congrats to the lovely couple! I am totally smiling right now. Yep, smiling from ear to ear. Ah, what a wonderful day indeed. My wedding loving heart is overjoyed and in full gear. Nothing but love here. Wedding Wednesday is amazing! Totally in love.
