Love and Lace Bridal Salon Interview

Today I am going behind the scenes with Ramona Southard, touring every lovely inch of her bridal salon. My wedding loving heart just got a bit happier when I stopped by this fabulous new bridal salon in the heart of Irvine, California. If there is one thing that I love about this salon, it has to be the super fun, stress-free, and relaxed environment which is created here. Love and Lace Bridal Salon is a salon which really stands out in my mind. They carry gowns from designers not found at any other Orange County bridal salon, and all displayed in the most prettiest of ways.  To top it all off, Ramona treats each bride with the most care and attention needed to make sure their experience is unforgettable.  I  really enjoyed my short little interview we did with owner Ramona at Love and Lace Bridal Salon. See all the fantastic things she shares about this gorgeous bridal salon.

About Love and Lace Bridal Salon

Love and Lace Bridal Salon is new, different, fun and a breath-of-fresh air from the traditional wedding dress shopping experience. We focus on the bride, of course, but we never push anyone into a sale or a dress they don’t feel comfortable in. The point is to come in, try on some dresses, have fun and be open to thinking outside the box of the traditional wedding dress! We have all sorts of gowns, some traditional and some unique, but all romantic, quality and breathtaking!

We feature some incredible designers:

– Kelly Faetanini: designer out of New York, currently only in Nordstrom stores on the West Coast; her dresses are on- trend and modern
-Mikaella by Paloma Blanca: Canadian designer, whose dresses are great quality and styles at an affordable price
-Leanne Marshall: from New York, Leanne is a Project Runway winner and designer wedding dresses that are completely romantic and oh-so-sexy
-Chaviano Couture: new designer from Atlanta, her dresses are gorgeous, romantic very intricately beautiful
-Myra Callan Bridal: founder of Twigs and Honey headpieces, her newly released bridal line is full of soft lace, bohemian, flowy gowns
-Elizabeth Dye: designer out of Portland, dresses are very well made, structured and fit the body amazingly
-Lis Simon: another one of our Canadian designers, her dresses are very modern and beautiful, at an amazingly affordable price point

-Truvelle Bridal: new designer, her focus is on a slight twist on the traditional wedding dress, but with gorgeous and breathtaking results!

We encourage our brides to come in with an open mind, ready to share some laughs, shed some tears (of joy!), and leave with an amazing dress and a lifetime membership in our Love and Lace family!

Top Three Favorite Gowns Re-Designed By Kelly Nishimoto

As you know, I am a huge fan of TLC’s SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING NEW. I am really obsessed with all the lovely bridal details each and every week. What I am dying over right now, are the gowns that designer and co-star of the show, Kelly Nishimoto creates for each bride. I am so impressed with her amazing work, that I have picked my top three looks that Kelly has re-designed this season so far. If they look this good this early on in the season, then I can not imagine what Kelly has in store for us! This season Kelly has blown us away! We love you Kelly and all your mad skills!

Let’s take a look at the top three designs I love:

  • Terron:  This bride was determined to have gown that hugs her body and compliments her royal styled wedding.  Her mother’s dress did not exactly have the details that Terron was looking for. Kelly wanted to create a gown that only ticked off the boxes of her wish list, but also reflected Terron’s big personality. Let’s take a look at the before and after photos of the borrowed bridal gown. Let us know what you think!

After Kelly resigned it, and added her amazing touches to it, here is the final dress:

Can you say WOW? My mouth dropped when I saw this gown! All I was saying was “OMG” like a billion times. Kelly created such an amazing gown which made this bride glow. I am having a total swoon moment with the back of this dress! Can you say Royal Wedding?

  • Sarah :  This bride is totally Daddy’s little girl and is super close to her father. It would mean so much if she could wear her grandmother’s bridal gown.  However, it is a 1942 bridal gown that is very delicate and falling apart. Kelly gets to work to create a gown that Sarah can walk down the aisle in, without it falling apart! Let’s take a look at this 1942 dress and what it looks like after Kelly does her magic.

Kelly was able to re-create this gown and make it totally wearable. Best part? It turned out to be a lovely dress with the prettiest of details! I was really blown away from this final look. Look at all the details! It is SO PRETTY!

  • Bridget:  This 6 ft tall bride-to-be was looking for a gown that would be simple, yet elegant for her rustic styled wedding. The borrowed gown is one that her mother and grandmother both wore on their wedding day. She loves the sentimental details of the dress, but its not totally her style.  It is a bit too modest, and wants to show off a little skin on her wedding day. Kelly starts with cutting off the sleeves and goes from there. Let’s take a look at the transformation from before to after.

After some detailed work of this gown, Kelly has designed a gorgeous dress. This gown is super sweet and romantic. I love the sweetheart neckline and the lace over it. The back? Have you seen the back of the dress? It is simply stunning!

TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta: A Special Episode on Lori’s Fight

Today’s post has a very special spot in my heart. This month is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and in honor of this very important month, I am pleased to share a very special episode of  TLC’s ” Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta”. Last October, there was an episode, SAY YES TO THE CURE: LORI’S FIGHT which documented Lori Allen’s journey from her diagnosis of breast cancer through her treatments and double mastectomy . Tonight’s special episode is a follow up with Lori Allen and her journey with her battle with breast cancer. It is an one-hour episode which features updates from Lori and her family, her current progress, and all the incredible response and love that has been received from the fans.

Last year’s special episode also featured fellow breast cancer survivor Delese Range, as she shopped with her husband for her vow renewal gown at Bridals by Lori. Now, cameras will follow Delese’s journey  as she prepares for her big day, even amidst the latest news that she’s relapsed and is currently battling cancer again. Through it all, Delese exemplifies her unwavering strength and courage at her heartfelt renewal wedding ceremony, with Lori in attendance.

Lori Party_03

I am very inspired by both of these incredible ladies. They both show strength and steadfastness, which has created a special bond and friendship between them. This episode also speaks to me because my friend recently won the battle to breast cancer. She was diagnosed almost a year ago, and now is living life even stronger now. She has been a true inspiration to me, and I have grown so much by learning from her and what she did to win this battle.  Through all the very difficult times, she remained firm, and fought back, and hard. I am so lucky to have such an amazing friend.

Lori Party_09

You will not want to miss this very special episode as it promises to be powerful with raw emotions, but will undoubtedly still feature moments of humor and southern sass.

“Say Yes To The Dress: Atlanta” is on  tonight at 8pm ET/PT  So set your DVR’s, or watch it live tonight!

Bridal Gowns by Sareh Nouri

Happy New Year! Well, it is definitely not January 1st, however it is March 20th, which means today is Persian New Year. Today is also the first day of Spring. Around here at BHL, we are having a good time bringing in the new year with our family and friends.  In celebration of the New Year and the first day of Spring,  I am super excited to share an amazing bridal gown collection. When I had the first glance of this stunning and romantic bridal collection, my eyes could not look away. All the fabulous and intricate details kept my eyes searching and wanting even more. Let me introduce you to the very talented and beautiful Sareh Nouri.

Sareh Nouri is no ordinary gown designer. Influenced by Persian art and calligraphy, Sareh creates unique patterns and styles in every gown she designs. The wedding gowns and sashes are a direct reflection of her deep roots in her Persian background. All the gorgeous gowns are made with the best fabrics around.  Consisting of extravagant, fine imported French lace and Italian silk, the gowns are simply breathtaking. The bridal dresses give a soft, romantic, and feminine feel. Perfect for any bride who wants to look and feel confidant, beautiful, elegant, and sexy.

Falling instantly in love with this lovely collection, my heart got a rush of romantic energy. Exactly what I need for the first day of Spring!

Do you want to see what my eyes could not get enough of? I think you will enjoy the Sareh Nouri collection.

Happy Holidays From Bridal Hot List

I love the holidays.  Spending time with family and friends and enjoying good times together is really amazing. I am especially excited this year since the launch of Bridal Hot List three months ago. The Bridal Hot List site was formed to be a resource for today’s bride and to provide her with the hottest wedding trends. From wedding gowns, bridal hairstyles, cakes, ceremony styles, to all that is wedding, we want to share it!  Since we love weddings at Bridal Hot List, we also feature real weddings to inspire brides.

I wanted to take a break from blogging today, and share with you what Bridal Hot List has done in the last three months.

I am overwhelmed with joy as we have been able to feature some amazing vendors. We have featured beach-side bridal shoes, wedding invitations, wedding decor, bridal hairstyles, videography, bridal makeup styles, wedding art work, bride personalized journals, gift registries, elegant chinaware, lighting, and amazing venues. Thank you to all our vendors!

We love our photographers and wedding coordinators for the inspiration of the weddings they share on our site. When a real wedding is featured, I get super excited because I love weddings and I can see all the wedding elements come together. I get inspired! Thank you all!

What I feel most lucky about, is the opportunity to work with TLC’s “Four Weddings” Television show. Each week a sneak peek and re-cap of the episode is shared. The show features four completely different brides who attend each other’s weddings with one wedding being deemed “the winner” at the end. The brides rate the food, dress, venue, originality, and overall experience of each wedding, except for their own. At the end, all the scores of each bride are tallied, and the one with the highest score wins an all expenses paid honeymoon. I always been a fan of the show, and to be able to feature it on Bridal Hot List is so amazing. Thank you TLC!

It has been a great three months at Bridal Hot List, and we are looking forward to more in 2013. We have some exciting things which we can not wait to share with you. We will have “how to” videos, and cover other TLC wedding shows. If you like to be featured or have an idea you like to share, please feel free to contact us. We are always looking for new wedding ideas!

Happy Holidays!
