Fall Disneyland Wedding from White Rabbit Photo Boutique

Happy Halloween!  What better way to celebrate than with this super adorable wedding at Disneyland, California.  We can not help ourselves, but we are obsessing over this gorgeous couple and their magical wedding day details. Oh my goodness, where do we begin? First, we will look at how bright and colorful this wedding is. It brings so much joy and happiness to an already beautiful day.  Next, we can not handle how cute the bridesmaids and groomsmen are in their colored converse shoes. LOVE! Brings that pop of color that ties into the whole wedding theme. We love weddings at Disneyland, but then when it is during the time of Halloween, it is the cherry on top. Why? It is all due to the fabulous and amazing Halloween decor sprinkled all over the Disneyland Park.  Celebrating Halloween with a couple who loves it as much as we do, then it is all over. Over with Halloween magic!  We are so lucky because we have one of our favorite photographers, White Rabbit Photo Boutique featured again this week. Our Halloween treat! So before you head out to do some trick-or-treating, make some time to browse through the fabulous images.

From White Rabbit Photo Boutique..

They were the sweetest couple, we had so much fun. Katie is dutch and she wanted her heritage reflected in their wedding, so all of her favors were from Holland and she had tulips as her bouquet. They were bright and cheerful and fun, and so they had a lot of really fun pops of color. We had a great time taking photos, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed or smiled so much during a photoshoot. :)

Top Five Spooky-Glam Bridal Beauty Tips

Boo! Did we scare you? It’s all in good fun, since it’s Halloween! Halloween is such a fun holiday and so easy to get in the spirit of. Yes, it can be scary but it can also be so sexy and fun. Spooky glam is perfect for Halloween, but it can also work for your wedding. Double dip on the Elvira look this year with our top five favorite spooky glam looks.

Deep Red Lips

Go for blood red, if you can. Fall and Winter are perfect for these deep plummy red lips and they look so fabulous on all skin tones. Think plump and rouge and nail this look with a whole lot of lip conditioner and a good lip liner. If you’re a little more edgy with your costume or even your bridal look, get a lip liner that’s really deep and make your lips as full as possible.

Claw Nails

Whether you’re going as Catwoman or Grumpy Cat, claw nails are perfect for this Halloween. Even better- they’re hot right now and will be the trendiest nail shape for your wedding. These are easiest to pull off with acrylics but if your nails are super long and strong you should be able to rock it. Skip circle and square and go for triangle nails. They’re long, sexy, and and spooky glam enough for any occasion.

Dark Dreamy Eyes

Don’t be afraid of the shadows- get deep dark purples and blue tones and create a mysterious and sexy look. You should definitely do a trial run if you’re thinking about doing this- it can be hard to pull off. If you’re doing this for your wedding, stick to only one big feature- either eyes or lips. If you’re doing it for a costume, go all out. Why not?

Light Twilight

No, not the teen vampires. Add a little sparkle to your look but just in subtle ways. Use a sparkly highlighter in your cheeks, a glitter liner in the corners of your eyes, or a sparkly lip color layered with darker tones. Little specks of glitter cause some intrigue in your look and create some serious sultry looks.

Long Flowy Locks

There’s something so romantic about long flowy hair that’s perfect for dressing as Princess Buttercup or while you’re getting married. Put the updo on the shelf for now and opt for flowy soft hair. You can start by dressing up as a Hollywood starlet for Halloween and keeping the party going all the way down the aisle.

Disney Halloween Wedding From White Rabbit Photo Boutique

Excuse me while I jump up and down for today’s feature. Three of my favorite things have come together for a magical and spectacular event. Halloween, Disneyland, and a wedding! Yep, thats right. I am thrilled to share a Disneyland Halloween themed wedding from the fabulous and amazingly talented White Rabbit Photo Boutique. I can not handle how incredibly beautiful the images are from this fun-filled Halloween wedding. Can we please talk about the Nightmare Before Christmas brooch bouquet? It is so fun and above all else, gorgeous! I can talk about this wedding all day, but I think I will let the images talk for themselves.  Which detail do you love the most? (shhh…I like ALL of them). Enjoy and Happy Halloween!

Top Five Spooky Wedding Decor Ideas

We’ve just got a few days until Halloween, which is one of our all-time favorite holidays! The best part about Halloween is all the spooky fun, why not bring it into your wedding? If you’re having a Halloween wedding, a fall wedding, or just want to keep things a little different for your big day, we’ve got five awesome spooky tips for your wedding.

Black Lace

Want to add a dash of spooky romance? Throw in black lace into your decor. Use it in the linens, in your bridesmaid dresses, and if you’re edgy- in your veil. Black lace creates an edgy feel to the usual white lace and makes everything that much spookier and sexier. If you want to be more subtle, use it to tie your flower bouquets or incorporate it into your napkins. Little touches can go a long way.

Tall White Candles

Lately we’ve been seeing lots of tea candles or smaller candles, but if you want to make things a little spookier go for tall. Taller candles, especially with a little bit of wax drip already going, are reminiscent of haunted houses and mansions in scary stories. Candles are innately romantic, but old-vintage looking candles make it that much spookier.

Dark Red Wine

This is a subtle touch of spooky, but go for a blood-red wine. Find something deep like a cabernet or merlot and serve in goblet-shaped wine glasses. It’s sexy, it’s a little spooky, and who cares if your teeth get a little red? Our next spooky decor tip will take care of that.

Low Lighting

Keep the dimmer in business and try to rely on candlelight as much as possible. Give your photographers a heads up so they can plan the lighting for photos accordingly, but have dinner by candlelight. It’s so romantic and makes everyone look that much more mysterious. Use those tall vintage candles to light your night!

Vintage Plates and Stemware

Old school Hollywood horror stories have one big thing in common- big scary mansions where everything is vintage. Take a note and look for vintage or vintage inspired plates and stemware. We love goblet-shaped glasses for your red wine, but up the ante with some vintage plates and long elegant forks and knives. Tones like gold and more muted silvers look so pretty and still look spooky glam.

San Diego California Estate Wedding

Whimsical, romantic, and beautiful, are the three words that we chose to describe this estate wedding. Tucked away within the lush forests and gorgeous gardens in San Diego, California, the couple said “I do”, with their closest friends and family. Then throw in some pretty artistic and lovely details created by the bride herself, then this wedding is worth chatting about. We love it when brides add their personal touch to make their wedding day even more magical. But what is distracting us at the moment is the seriously gorgeous floral swing which has our wedding loving hearts full of love. Take a look at what JEFF+AMBER had a chance to capture at this stunning wedding.

From JEFF+AMBER

Brooke and Michael have such a unique bond between their families and you could see and feel the love the whole entire day through.   Brooke did all their details and artwork herself as she comes from an amazingly talented family of artists.

Every detail was so unique, the love and heartfelt words that came out of every speech was so inspiring!  It felt as if everyone that attended their wedding day knew they where special to even be a part of this group!

There is a true sense of gratitude when you get to witness love as strong as these two have!  Dad’s tears and speech about turning Michael away when he first asked to propose because he knew Michael wasn’t fully the person he was able to be left the whole crowd breathless.  Then to hear that Michael went off to become a Doctor to further win the hand and blessing of her father was something out of a love story.

When you browse through our favorites it’s important for you to know these details as it builds their special story so much more!  Not only are they the cutest, sweetest and most genuine people we’ve had the privilege to get to know and capture, they are true friends and good people.

Sneak Peek of TLC’s “Something Borrowed, Something New” Season 3 Episode 3

Wrapping up another lovely week and ending it with a brand new episode of TLC’s SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING NEW.  Have you enjoyed the season so far? It has been a pretty amazing, and we can not wait to watch the next one! If you have missed any, then you will need to go back and watch them so you can see all the fabulous fun this show brings.

If you are a SBSN (SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING NEW) newbie, then let us tell you a little bit about this amazing show. This show follows a bride’s journey to find the perfect wedding dress for her big day. However there is a twist!  The bride will have to choose a new designer bridal gown, or a fashionably redesigned family heirloom. Who will help the bride find something new and something borrowed for her special day? Each episode is hosted by designer Kelly Nishimoto and stylist Sam Saboura, who will work with the bride to help choose between two dress options. Kelly will turn a special, previously worn gown into a gown which is for the time, venue, and personality of the bride. The bride will also have a chance to work with Sam in shopping at a bridal salon to find a brand new stylish dress. What happens next? The bride will have to make a very important decision and choose between a one-of-a kind dress and a newly fashionable piece. Will the bride choose her mother’s wedding gown, or find something new and unique to her? Which one will the bride choose?

Tonight’s episode features bride-to-be, Crystal who has been used to wearing army green as she has been in the military the last few years. She is not used to wearing dresses, but is looking for a dress which will compliment her winter wonderland them.  She is a tough person to convince in doing anything bridal. Sam will have to find a way to make Crystal a bridal believer, while Kelly is going to transform Grandma’s dress into something fit for a snow queen. Will she walk down the aisle in something borrowed, or say ” I do” in something new?

TLC

TLC’s Something Borrowed, Something New is on tonight at 10ET/PT.  So set your DVR’s, or watch it live tonight.

Top Five Bad Beauty Habits Brides Need to Stop

Wedding planning isn’t all about the guests list and the decor- it’s about YOU too. As the bride, you’re the centerpiece for the whole event so you need to be sure to take some time for yourself. You can’t focus on the first dance too much- you want to be sure that you’re at your best. We’ve got the top five beauty sins to avoid to keep you looking your best on the biggest day of your life!
STOP Sleeping in Your Makeup

So you fell asleep with a BB cream on, so what? The ‘what’ is that your skin can’t breathe properly with a coat of goop over it. You need your skin to be able to reset and breath and not get clogged or irritated. If you sleep in your makeup, whether it be a tinted moisturizer or red lips and falsies, it’s not good for your skin. Yes, it’s worse to fall asleep in false lashes than lipstick, but that’s not the point. The point is to be in the good habit of taking off all (yes, ALL) your makeup before you hit the hay. You’ll wake up with a fresh face and look fantastic while you stroll down the aisle.

STOP Skipping Lip Softeners

You may be a little more glamorous than the typical chapstick crowd, but that shouldn’t keep you from this staple. Lip softeners from EOS, Chapstick, and Jack Black are fantastic and can keep your lips from chapping and keep them looking good for your first kiss. Before you put on your lips for the day, do a swipe of a lip softener. If you can find something not tinted and moisturizing based, you can put it on before you go to sleep (it’s not makeup- it’s healthy!) so your lips soften overnight. Your lips are guarenteed to get some action on your wedding day- make sure they’re ready.

STOP Biting Your Nails

You know if you do this it’s bad! There are so many ways to keep your nails clean and ready for the big day. Since a big part of the day revolves around rings, you’re going to want your fingers to look good. There are nail polishes available that can make your nails taste bad if you try to chew them. You can try chewing gum instead of reaching for your nails. Get a gel mani to keep your polish looking good so you arn’t tempted to chew. Whatever you do- keep your fingers away from your teeth!

STOP Skipping Beauty Sleep

This one may feel selfish, but it’s totally serious. You need your sleep! Start slow- go to bed ten minutes earlier than usual. Then fifteen, then twenty, and see if you can get up to an hour. You’ll avoid getting baggy or puffy eyes, you’ll be more energized, and you’ll be ready to conquer a full day of fun planning! Your skin, your face, your brain, your fiance will thank you.

STOP Forgetting Your Teeth

Swing by the dentist- yes, do it. The dentist can be scary, but it’s totally worth it. Brush at least twice a day- three if you’re able to duck out for a minute after lunch. Floss at least once a day and keep some on you if you get anything stuck between your teeth. Gargle at least once a day with a fluoride based wash. And yes, finally, go to the dentist and make sure you’re cavity free. If you’re not, get it taken care of before the big day. You don’t want to bite down into your wedding cake and be met with a sharp pain. Get your teeth cleaned (lots of dental plans include cleanings so it may be free to you!) and keep them clean. You may feel too busy to floss, but when you see pictures of your pearly whites that match your dress you’ll be happy you saw the dentist.

NYC Red Vintage Inspired Styled Shoot

I think Red just became my new favorite color. And it is all due to the gorgeous red details that are featured in this beautiful styled shoot from Sasha Chou Photography. All over with a swoon at every single amazing detail.  It is lovely inspiration like this, that makes me love my job more and more each and every day. I mean, come on, how breathtaking is the bride and groom in such a dreamy setting?  I kind of want to be transported to the city and get all dolled up with the pretty dress, the romantic flower crown, and surrounded by all the elegant details.  So, without further adieu,  lets dive into this perfectly made red vintage inspired styled shoot and enjoy a bit of wedding inspiration.

Inspiration from Sasha Chou Photography

We decided to do the shoot in the city’s East River Park, with the Williamsburg Bridge and the morning sunrise as our backdrop.

Our shoot featured many elements that most brides needing an inspirational boost can draw from. For example, the vintage dress being modeled in the shoot can appeal to a bride considering whether an heirloom dress can be made anew again.

Another idea that can be used for an inspirational feature is the beautiful floral crown adorned on our bride’s head. Budget and DIY brides are always looking for affordable alternatives to the pricey cathedral/double veils; so our floral crown can come to the rescue. This was created using a vibrant and bold red rose and balanced by ranunculus and brides protea intertwined amongst a vine of jasmine.

A special element for this shoot is the red shawl, which coincidentally ties in with the red of the bride’s bouquet, corsage and floral crown. It can add a special something to bride’s looking to incorporate the statement color into their wedding; even if it so happens to be red.

Top Seven Do’s & Don’ts of Haunted House Bridal Bonding

We’re in the final stretch until Halloween, are you brides to be excited? If you’re looking for something fun to do with your bridesmaids before the big day, we suggest hitting up a haunted house before they all close. If getting spooked with your best friends sounds like the best way for bridesmaids to bond, we’ve got the scoop on how to do it right.

DO Define the Group

Make sure you know if it’s going to be a date night, or if it’s a girls’ night. If you have a bunch of single girls in your party it may be easier to keep it to a girls’ night so no one feels left out. If everyone’s attached and you all get along, think about inviting the significant others too. Just think about the group before you start sending save the dates to keep it fun and low drama.

DON’T Drink Beforehand

Sure a few cocktails can be fun, but save the champagne toasts for the big day. You don’t want to risk barfing, screaming, tripping, or acting unlady-like while you’re scared. It’s not a cute look for anyone- and you’re getting married soon. Keep you and your bridesmaids appropriate.

DO Research

There are so many haunted house attractions this year- more so than ever before and they’re always getting bigger and better. There are some, however, that isolate the groups to specific numbers or even make you go through alone (such as ‘Alone’ in Los Angeles). Make sure that your numbers match up to what’s allowed so you can all stay together- you don’t want to be left alone in a haunted house!

DON’T Dress to Impress

Haunted houses can sometimes get messy- whether it’s fake cobwebs all they way out to more scary things. Warn your bridal party ahead of time to save the stilettos for the reception and wear flat comfy shoes and jeans. Dress to be warm (most haunted houses kick into gear after dark) and be ready to run a little if you need to (or need to- these places are creepy!).

DO Carpool

After running around in the dark for an hour with your best friends getting scared, do you really want to drive home alone? Carpool as much as possible to keep your girls together for both bonding and gas purposes. You’ll have time beforehand to go over any last minute wedding updates, and time afterwards to unwind and laugh together so you don’t have nightmares about haunted hayrides.

DON’T Make Them Match

It’s perfectly fine to have them in matching peplum fuchsia dresses when you’re getting married, but not when you’re just going out for girl time. The bachelorette party and bridesmaid dresses are enough for a matching dress code- let your girls dress comfy and warm when you go out. This is not the time to wear your white ‘Bride to Be’ tank. Save the wedding wear for more official functions. Yes, that includes your plastic ‘wife’ tiara from your wedding shower.

DO Take Pictures

Some haunted houses won’t let you take pictures inside, but take pictures as a group when you get there! This will be a fun experience that you’ll reminisce about- you’ll want to remember it. Check in, hashtag it, and be sure you get your smiling bridal party all together. It’s all in good fun and you’re all there because you love each other. Keep a keepsake!

From the bride…

Our wedding day was everything I could have ever imagined. It was really the best day ever for us. I can not say enough how perfect our vendors were, and how special they made our day. When picking a venue we knew that our family and friends were coming in from out of town so we knew it had to be at a hotel where everyone could stay and enjoy themselves. We found the Hyatt in Newport Beach and knew it was perfect for what we wanted. Justin and I wanted our entire evening to be held outdoors which lead me to our garden theme. I loved searching for garden decor items that could be added to the already beautiful venue.  When picking out my dress I wanted it to align with our outdoor wedding style. I picked out a lace dress that was comfortable and flowed, especially since I knew I would be on the dance floor all night. We lucked out that our MC was as awesome as he was because were got everyone dancing all night long. As for the food, we didn’t go into it thinking we would love the food because it was “hotel” food. When we went for the food tasting we were shocked at how wrong we were. The food was so delicious that I didn’t need to be forced to eat dinner that evening. We had such a memorable day that we were able to share with our family and friends. Everything was amazing, and people are still talking about how much fun they had.
