Top Three Fall Bridal Gowns from Andrea’s Fashions

Are you enjoying this fall season as much as I am?  I have to tell you that I am totally in love with the fall season. We may not get the total fall season experience here in Southern California, but the little that we do,  makes me smile. We are celebrating fall in a fabulous and fashionable way. How? By sharing a few gorgeous fall bridal gowns that are totally trending.   When it comes to stylish and trendy gowns we look to Andrea’s Fashions.  They have provided us their top three fall bridal gowns which are so jaw-dropping beautiful, that we think that every girl would love to get their hand on these. Yes, these gowns SO pretty and totally hot. Again, I love the fall season!

  • Burgundy Satin Gown

This gown is a gorgeous beast! It is high in the front, and low in the back. This color is rich and vibrant and gives any bride a gorgeous pop on her big day. The fabric of the gown makes the color give depth and the pleats in the skirt makes anyone have a skinny waste line. Wow right? There is no seam, as it is an all one piece cut on a circular skirt. The skirt can be changed by connecting the loops to the under layer. Making it an entirely new dress! It can even be done in high in the front, and low in the back, giving more of a train look for walking down the aisle. In love with this creative design. Four dresses in one!

  •  Spanish Inspired Gown

This gown is all French hand embroidery with silk thread and a drop waist featuring a soft full skirt. This dress can transform any bride into a gorgeous Spanish Princess. It brings attention and is a total jaw dropper.  The veil is netted with horse hair to give it that looped shape. It can be used as a veil or tied in many different styles for the bride. This is a ball gown look for  the non-traditional Bride. This dress can be altered to be short after the wedding day for an adorable cocktail dress great for any occasion. Beautiful right?

  • Silk Chiffon Gown

This gown is everything. It features Juliette sleeves which are stunning. The dress is a straight skirt with a corset to give any bride that skinny waistline to show off the curves. It is a perfect dress for the more mature bride. The sleeves can be changed to be both off the shoulder or on the shoulder. Love this hot Valentino red color. So sophisticated and fashion forward for the Fall Season.

Seven Tips for Being Picture Perfect

Stand Up Straight

Posture can be a fifteen pound difference! If it helps, try to pull your shoulders back and keep your spine straight. Think long and tall and you’ll look lean and graceful.

Relax Your Eyes

You want to look happy and relaxed when you’re smiling, not like you’re trying to read a sign sixty feet away. Don’t try too hard to look awake or alert, just focus on keeping your face relaxed and your mood up.

Know Your Angles

Standing at a three-quarters angle is typically regarded as one of the most flattering angles for women. This angle can be very slimming and create a curvy silhouette, particularly if you angle your shoulders to be a little lower towards the camera. However, if it isn’t in your comfort zone, don’t feel pressured to do it! You should feel as good as you look, and look as good as you feel. If you love the way you look facing front, go for it!

Show Off Your Arms

Try to avoid leaving your arms down by your side. It can make your shoulders look low and your body look slouchy. Place your hands gently on your hips to show off your long limbs, or around a friend’s shoulders to hide anything you don’t love.

Fluff Your Hair

If you suffer from limp hair, take a second to flip your hair around for product-free insta-volume. Run your fingers through the sides of your hair quickly to ease fly aways that may have  developed. Finally, pull some of your hair over your shoulders to frame your face. You spent time on your hair getting it ready- you should show it off!

Do A Foundation Test

Before you head out for the day, make sure your foundation is the right shade. Your skin tone can vary depending on your sun exposure throughout different times of the year. This means that if you only do one shade of foundation year round, it may not always match your current skin tone! Take a high-res picture of yourself in light similar to that of the wedding (if it’s outdoor, go outside. If it’s at night and inside, try inside with the flash on) to ensure you’re wearing the right shade. Make sure your neck and your face are not contrasting colors.

Don’t Raise Any Brows

If you color in your eyebrows, make sure they work with your skin tone and hair color. Full brows are in right now, but don’t let that sway you into overdoing your brows!

Top Three Tips for Shopping for a Bridesmaid Dress

After you’ve bought your bridal gown, the very next step is to look for the bridesmaid dresses to complete your bridal party look. Following these three tips will help make your shopping experience easier for you and all of your bridesmaids.

1. STYLE: When you go into a bridal boutique, ask what the popular dress styles are. Consultants can help you find a dress that flatters a range of body types since bridesmaids always vary in sizes. Chiffon is usually the ideal fabric for a bridesmaid dress, as it flows nicely and gives a soft look. You also want the dress to compliment your gown in minute details. If you have a strapless sweetheart top, then match their dresses with the same neckline. If your gown has lace on it, then pick their dresses with a sheer lace top, or one that has subtle lace appliqués. These little details and tie-ins will make the look flow smoothly together.

2. COLOR: Color options for dresses were originally limited to the bridesmaids. Nowadays, brides too can wear different color gowns such as white, ivory, blush, light gold, alabaster, and so on. With that being said, the color choices for bridesmaids can be difficult. Wait to pick your colors after you’ve bought your dress, so that you can match them accordingly. Also keep in mind that every manufacturer has their own names and shades for their colors. When looking at dresses, ask your consultant for the appropriate color swatches, and ask if they apply to all of the sample dresses. Certain manufacturers only make a few dresses in a certain color or fabric, so it is good to be aware. They will usually change the fabric for an additional fee, so be sure to ask your consultant what your options are so that there aren’t any surprises at checkout.

3. TIME: Believe it or not, bridesmaids dresses may take as long to come in (and sometimes longer) than your wedding dress. Most manufacturers take three to four months to get dresses sent out, but they will also accommodate quick weddings for additional rush fees. It is important to start looking at bridesmaid dresses right after you buy your gown to insure everything will come in on time. You want to avoid rush fees if possible, and you want to allow ample time for your girls to receive alterations if needed. Keep in mind too that most bridal salons won’t place your order until all of your bridesmaids have paid and gotten measured. Be sure that all of your girls are aware of the stores policies to avoid fees or additional stressors.

Five DIY Wedding Secrets: You Can Do It Too

The whirl of engagement excitement is settling and now the reality of wedding planning is sinking in. There are so many different aspects to consider that weddings have the potential to get overwhelming really fast.  Not all of us have the $50,000 dollar budget we see on wedding shows, but it is very possible to have a wedding just as beautiful on half the budget.  The great thing about weddings is the Do-it-yourself or DIY options available to cut costs dramatically.  Here are five DIY tips for your dream wedding.

PLAN ACCORDINGLY

It’s never too early to start gathering ideas for your wedding.  When you’ve selected a date create a Pinterest account just for your wedding.  If you see something you like PIN it and make final decisions later.  Also, decide on a theme.  This will make adding details much easier and give the ceremony and reception a more cohesive look.  Finally, create a budget and a timeline to keep your various projects on track and your stress level down.

ASK FOR HELP

DIY wedding projects are a perfect opportunity to bond with family, friends and your future husband.  Get your bridal party together and make a party out of a DIY project.  This is a great time for everyone to get to know each other before the big day.  You can also create a special memory with both your mom and future mother-in-law.  DIY projects don’t have to be stressful at all.  You can do them in front of the TV with your fiance a few nights a week.  You’ll get tons of work done before you know it!

WEDDING COORDINATOR

Although it is totally possible, taking on the entire wedding process by yourself can be a daunting task.  If you don’t have the desire or the budget to hire a wedding coordinator for the entire process, consider contracting one for the wedding day only.  This way you are able to take care of all the arrangements yourself and on the wedding day have someone who will ensure the smooth facilitation of the ceremony and reception.  ENJOY YOUR DAY!

DIY DO

There are many opportunities for DIY at your wedding. Here are a few things you can make yourself to add character to your event:

Invites: You can make custom invites and menus for a fraction of professional costs.

Centerpieces: The great thing about centerpieces… they don’t have to include flowers!  Vintage bottles, candles, photos or anything that fits the theme of your wedding can be a centerpiece.  It also adds a personal touch if you include items you love or have significant meaning to you as a couple.

Bouquet: Making your own bouquet is an option for those who want a smaller bunch of flowers.  Since tradition mandates the bouquet toss during the reception, some may want to allocate that budget elsewhere.  Make the bouquet the day before to  maintain freshness.

Favors: Have some fun here, the options are endless!  This is your opportunity to really let your personality as a couple shine.

Place Settings: You can buy place settings at wholesale to save costs.  You also don’t have to have an extensive number of knifes, forks, plates, glasses, etc.  Simplicity is elegant as well.

DIY DON’T

Yes, you can technically make your entire wedding DIY but there are a few things that are better left to the professionals if only to help you keep your sanity.

Food: Attempting to make enough food for 100 guests can get messy fast. You will save some major headaches by leaving this detail to the professionals.  The good thing about food is that you can have a tasting session before your day to make sure it is up to your taste bud standards.

Photography:  Photography is of the utmost importance on your wedding day.  All your hard work and planning culminates on this one day so making sure you have a photographer who knows what he/she is doing is invaluable.  A professional will know what shots to take and when so you can be confident that your day will be well documented.

Flowers: Due to the delicate nature of florals it might be best to leave this one to the professionals.  True, flowers can get pricey but try choosing flowers that are in season.  You can cut costs dramatically this way and tie the ceremony together in a subtle way.

In many ways DIY projects are more fun than letting a professional plan everything for you.  You can still have that professional touch while incorporating the personal details that DIY allows.  Weigh your options and really look at your budget, see where DIY might be the better route. Remember, the most important thing about your wedding is to have fun and make it your own.

Newport Beach, California Wedding from David Marano Photography

I have to admit, I will never get tired of looking at all the gorgeous details of a wedding. It is just so amazing to witness a special day of a couple through all their beautiful photographs. This wedding is so romantic, that each and every detail screams sweet love.  The kind of wedding that has me stopping in my tracks because I just have to take a moment to breath in all the charm and prettiness.   I’ve seen my fair share of simple and classic weddings, but never before have I seen such love and heart-melting details from each and every moment of the wedding. I can not stop smiling. This wedding is just pure joy and happiness. The kind of feeling that every wedding should have. I want to crawl into the computer and be a guest at this wedding, so I can be be surrounded by all the joy and love that is so obviously  there. All beautifully captured by David Marano Photography, these images speak for themselves. So don’t hesitate for a moment, and instead take a look at the lovely images this wedding has to offer.

From the bride…

Our wedding was on March 23, 2013 and both the ceremony and reception were at The Crystal Cove Canyon Club in Newport Beach. Since I’m from Michigan and Erik is from New York, we chose this location because we knew although it wasn’t right on the beach, we could still have the beach feel, along with beautiful green valleys and blooming Spring flowers. The ceremony was in a beautiful area over looking the green valleys, and the reception was only feet away with the same beautiful, crisp view. The wedding was simple, classic, and elegant. The colors we chose were ivory, brown and hints of greens within the flowers. We chose neutral colors because our location was so extremely beautiful, the neutral colors just kept the classic look that we wanted, without being overpowering.  We had about 120 guests that included our closest friends and family. We had people traveling from Michigan, Maryland, Florida, Arizona, North Carolina, Virginia, Chicago, and New York. What a wonderful feeling to know that your loved ones will travel so far to spend your most beautiful day with you, and celebrate for a week! Since we are both in the service industry, we decided that a sit down dinner would be way too basic. Therefore, we chose to do buffet style, THE RIGHT WAY!! We had about 12 items on our menu created by Chef Rich Mead of Sage Restaurant, which included an oyster bar, lamb and cous cous, curry chicken, calamari ceviche… to name a few. It was outstanding and I am so happy we were able to have such fresh, creative items to share with everyone!

The day could of not been anymore perfect. My mom said I planned my wedding just as I said I always would. I loved the feeling of love that day and I can only hope that every bride experiences that wonderful feeling.

We are still getting compliments on our wedding photos!! Everyone was so in love with David Marano Photography. He never missed a moment and our pictures were just perfect. The colors and variety were absolutely breathtaking and we could not have been happier. We are so incredibly happy we were able to have them photograph our most special day!!

Interview with Cupcake Wars Winners from Season 9

Shhh, guess what? I have a secret which I have been keeping for months now and I super thrilled to finally share with you all! It is pretty hard to keep something so amazing a secret. I do not know how I did it, but I did, and I am proud of myself for doing it. What is the secret, you ask? You know I love desserts, right? Well, I love cupcakes even more, and when I had the chance to attend the filming of the season nine finale of Food Network’s “Cupcake Wars”, I almost fainted.  I am huge fan of the show and was so excited to attend the filming of such an incredibly fun show.  I really loved attending the “LA Bridal Bash”  hosted by legendary high-end wedding planner Kristin Banta. The swanky and chic event took place at the stunning rooftop of The London West Hollywood Hotel in Los Angeles, California with some of the most amazing people in the wedding industry.   What was the best part about attending the event, besides indulging in some mouthwatering and delicious cupcakes? Meeting the winners! Yes, that is the secret I been hiding for months now. It was pretty cool to know who the winners were before they are revealed them on the season finale.  I was so impressed with the cupcakes and their workmanship, I wanted to know a bit more about the winners. So, a few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of interviewing Angela and Kaylee of HappyCakes Cupcakery. First of all, congratulations to them both for being crowned Cupcake Wars Champions!  You can imagine how thrilled I was for the opportunity to interview these lovely ladies, who took time from baking delicious cupcakes to answer a few questions.

Cupcake Wars Season Nine Winners

Cupcake Wars Season Nine Winners

Bridal Hot List:  Welcome to Bridal Hot List, Kaylee and Angela! First of all, congratulations on winning Cupcake Wars! That is super exciting! For those members of our audience first getting to know you, could you tell us how you got your start in the cupcake industry and how you ended up on the show?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: We actually began baking together a couple of years ago because of Cupcake Wars. We loved the show and always felt the need to be eating cupcakes while watching. This led us to try several different cupcakeries…always with unsatisfying results. We realized that there was no bakery in our city where we could find moist and not-too-sweet cupcakes, so we set out to bake our own! We worked for over a year to perfect the recipe, and all the while our friends and family encouraged us to open a business. Last September, we decided to go for it! We opened HappyCakes Cupcakery AND applied for Cupcake Wars! We ended up missing the cut-off date for Season 8, but applied for Season 9 as soon as casting opened. Getting the phone call from Cupcake Wars was a dream come true, and we are so thankful that we had this wonderful opportunity!!

Bridal Hot List: What was your experience like on being on the show? What were some of the biggest challenges?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: Being on Cupcake Wars was an AWESOME experience! The producers and everyone working on the show were incredible, and even during the most challenging times, we felt blessed simply to have been given the chance to be on The Food Network. What great exposure for our little company!

The biggest challenge was definitely being timed in every round! The clock is real, and time goes by faster than imagineable. We practiced baking cupcakes at home before going on the show, and we would time ourselves to see how quickly we could get done…but it could have never prepared us for the real experience! Secret ingredients, intense competitors, and cameras in your face all add up to an overwhelming and nerve-wracking challenge.

Bridal Hot List: Besides winning it all, what were some of the highlights of competing on Cupcake Wars?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: We became good friends with a couple of the producers, as well as our fellow competitors. It was such an unexpected pleasure that we got to make new friends while promoting our business. Obviously, meeting Candace, Florian, Justin Wilman, and Kristin Banta was a highlight! We were honored to meet such experts of the industry, and to hear some of their feedback on our work. Flying to LA for the filming of our show was so much fun! Kaylee and I get along so well, so any trip that we take becomes a wonderful adventure. We are so happy that we got to make this life-memory together.

Bridal Hot List: What were the winning cupcake flavors? Can you tell us about each one? How did you come up with each flavor? What was your inspiration?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: Cinnamon Mint: Snickerdoodle Cookie Base, Cinnamon cake, Cinnamon Honey Glaze, Mint Tea Buttercream. We came up with this flavor because we had to use two of the challenge ingredients (obviously we chose cinnamon and mint). We were inspired by a hot cup of tea, because we felt that we could successfully marry the flavors of cinnamon and mint by making a mint tea and using a bit of honey. We wanted to impress the judges by taking two flavors that were not an obvious pairing and combine them perfectly–and thankfully this cupcake was a huge success and helped us stand out in round one!

Salty and Sweet Chocolate Caramel Pecan Pie: Pecan Cake, Salted Caramel Glaze, Whipped Chocolate Buttercream, Homemade Pie Crust Heart, Whipped Chocolate Buttercream, Salted Caramel Drizzle. The theme of our episode is “LA Bridal Bash,” so we wanted all of our cupcakes to be inspired by a wedding theme. This particular salty/sweet cupcake represented the idea of “opposites attract.”

Chocolate Espresso: Chocolate Cake, Vanilla Bean Buttercream Filling, Espresso Buttercream, Chocolate Shell Drizzle. This cupcake was our “His and Hers.” We used the chocolate elements to represent the groom, and the lighter colors of the whipped filling and espresso buttercream to represent the bride. We also complemented this idea with the decorations (Mr. & Mrs. stamp, bowtie, and black wedding dress).

Coconut Cream: Coconut Cake, Cream of Coconut Buttercream. We decided to keep this cake a bit more simple, because white cake seems perfect for a wedding. But we wanted to give it a bit of a twist from the traditional white cake, and make it coconut! We were inspired partly by Kristin Banta’s love of traditional elements with modern and unexpected twists, and partly by the tropical honeymoon that often follows a wedding!

Bridal Hot List: I was lucky enough to attend the filming of the finale and got to try your cupcakes. My favorite cupcake that tasted, which I absolutely loved was the cinnamon, snickerdoodle with a mint tea frosting. What inspires you to create such a flavorful and oh-so-good flavor?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: As referenced above, we thought cinnamon and mint would be an unexpected pairing, but would not clash! In our house, we drink tea (often mint) with a spoonful of honey, cream, and a cinnamon sprinkle on top…and if it works in a mug, it should work in a cupcake! We chose to add snickerdoodles as a base to the cupcake because we knew that having another element that used cinnamon would help make that flavor even more pronounced. The judges expect to taste the challenge ingredients, so we worked very hard to make the flavors strong.

Bridal Hot List: Each season, the winning team has the opportunity to showcase the winning cupcakes at a special event. Can you tell us about this event?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: We had the honor of showcasing our cupcakes at an event hosted by Kristin Banta for some of LA’s top wedding vendors. We met some of the foremost people in the wedding industry, and loved sharing our cupcakes with them. Photographers, videographers, models, event coordinators, caterers, and more graced the rooftop of the London in West Hollywood.

Bridal Hot List: For future contestants that will be on the show one day, what advice do you have for them that you wish you knew before you went on?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: The promotion for your business is invaluable, so enjoy the process and don’t stress out too much! This is the opportunity of a lifetime, and worth all of the hard work that you put in to it. Also, make sure to push yourself! You will not regret doing your absolute best…go crazy with decorations, with your flavor choices, and (if you make it to the last round) with your display! The judges have seen almost everything that’s out there, so to really impress them you have to try to stand out.

Bridal Hot List: Overall, what lessons did you both learn with competing on Cupcake Wars and how did those lessons improve your skills?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: We learned how to communicate with each other better than ever before. We didn’t have the luxury of extra time to brainstorm or discuss solutions to problems, so we had to talk through what we could, and completely trust each other with what we couldn’t.

Bridal Hot List: Cupcakes are trending right now for weddings and many couples opt for cupcakes versus a wedding cake at their wedding. When did your team first notice this trend? What special arrangements can be done with “wedding cupcakes” that can’t be done with a traditional wedding cake?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: Before we opened our business, we were already noticing that cupcakes were becoming popular with weddings. As soon as we opened, we knew that one of our target audiences would be brides, and we generated an abundance of interest. Brides and wedding guests love the versatility of cupcakes. Cupcakes offer a variety of flavors per wedding, whereas wedding cake is limited to its individual layers. Cupcakes can also be displayed in a number of ways: tiered stands, ladders, vintage bookcases, etc. Cupcakes are basically mini cakes with lots of options, and so we believe that this trend will never go out of style.

Bridal Hot List: What has been the most bizarre cupcake creation request you’ve received? If you ended up doing it, how did it turn out? I imagine there are quite a few requests that you turn down. Could you share a story about a job you ended up turning down, and why?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: The most bizarre flavor that has ever been requested of us was a Peanut Butter, Sharp Cheddar, and Bacon cupcake. We decided to attempt it, and thankfully we had very tasty results! The cheddar flavor wasn’t very prominent, but aside from that the cake was moist and overall tasted very delicious! Aside from this, we do not receive very many odd requests, mainly because our menu has over 40 flavors so there is something for everyone!

Bridal Hot List: We want to hear from you to find out what’s trending this year heading into the fall wedding season. What are the top three most popular flavors for wedding cupcakes in Fall 2013? Are there any flavors you think brides should be thinking about that aren’t on that list?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: Our top three most popular cupcakes for weddings this Fall are: Maple Pecan Pie (with homemade pie crust topping!), S’mores, and Caramel Apple.

We have a new cupcake named the “Hot” Chocolate. It is a little bit spicy because of the cayenne in the cake, but is topped with a cooling layer of whipped chocolate buttercream and whipped vanilla cream. Absolutely perfect for Fall, and perfect for the slightly adventurous bride! Apple Pie is another flawless Autumn cupcake: snickerdoodle cookie base, cinnamon cake, homemade apple pie filling, cinnamon buttercream, homemade caramel drizzle, topped with a mini snickerdoodle cookie. We think either of these flavors would compliment any of this season’s wedding receptions.

Cupcakes are a great choice for weddings, and even though every bride has different tastes, as long as you choose a good range of flavors, you are sure to be pleased! Make sure that there is always a chocolate option, something with a vanilla cake base, and then possibly something fruity or peanut butter-y or caramel-y. This will ensure that all guests at the wedding have their sweet tooth satisfied.

Bridal Hot List: Has competing on Cupcake Wars improved your business?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: It has brought us a tremendous amount of exposure and allowed us to start pursuing our dream of having a storefront. When we competed on Cupcake Wars we were an online-only bakery, but we now sell our cupcakes out of a “temporary” storefront, and have our eyes on a permanent one!

Bridal Hot List: Now that you have won, what is next for you both?

HappyCakes Cupcakery: We are working very hard to open our new storefront within the next 6 months. We want HappyCakes Cupcakery’s storefront to feel like a second home to our customers…where we can share our cupcakes, and our happiness, with the people of our wonderful city. Then, down the road, we hope to begin shipping so that we can share our happycakes nationwide.

Five Trending Fall Eyeliners

Hi there bridal beauties! Here at Bridal Hot List we’re keeping our eye on trends and we are very pleased to announce the cat eye is back and is more fun than ever before. We’re loving seeing fun twists on the classic cat eye, which you can emulate using any of these five trending eyeliners.

Blue is beautiful, let’s keep that straight. This fall, we’re loving solid cobalt blueliner. We like Covergirl’s Perfect Blend liner in “Cobalt Blue 135” ($5-$6, drugstores) for a royal blue that screams Kate Middleton (even if you’re more of a Pippa). Use the blender on the end of the pencil to create a blended look, or keep the lines bold for bachelorette parties.

If you are more of a Kate than a Pippa, maybe a nude liner would be better for you. Line your lids with a flesh toned kohl for a seriously sleek look. We love Rimmel’s Scandaleyes eyeliner in “Nude 005” ($4, drugstores) because it’s easy to blend but stays only where you want it to be. Doing a trendy cat eye in an unexpected color like nude makes two classics fresh all over again!

One color trend that is absolutely booming this season is deep violets. We love MAC’s Pearlglide Intense Eyeliner in “Almost Noir” ($16, MAC counters) for being bold, deep, and beautiful on all skintones. The color itself is complex and complimentary without being overwhelming to most looks.

If you’re more of a traditionalist, pick up a black liner that lets you easily play with thickness and color saturation. The “Super Skinny Marker” by NYX ($9, beauty supply stores) is easy to handle and can create subtle liner looks or dramatic angel wings with the flick of a wrist. Plus, you can go lighter or harder to create a lighter or darker liner.

A bold powercolor can always be fun. We love “Electric” by Urban Decay ($19, Sephora) as a bold bright blue. For a super trendy Fall liner look, do a thick wing with this blue, then go over it again with a thin black close to your eyelid. Layered eyeliner creates a dramatic, confident look that will be a hit at any bachelorette events you have lined up.

When the weather starts to feel cooler and you need a little something warm, a tea will do. These are perfect to give to your guest because it will keep them extra cozy during the fall season. Plus, it is coming from you so it’s a sweet idea! It’s super easy to make it too. Interested in using this as your wedding favor? Here is a step-by-step DIY. Voila!

The basic materials you’ll be needing are:

  •  Muslin fabric–always look for natural & unbleached or pastel colors
  • Baker’s twine
  •  Loose leaf tea (Lupicia Tea Shoppe in LA is my favorite!)
  •  Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Tags
  • Little brown bag

Step-by-step procedure:

  • Cut the muslin into squares
  • Fill the middle of the square with 1-2 tablespoons of loose leaf
  • Fold one side of the fabric over the loose leaf tea.
  • Fold the other side of the fabric over (like a taco!)
  • Bring the two ends up together, and tap or move the tea around with your fingers so it’s at the bottom of your tea bag.
  • Cut the baker’s twine to any desired length, and proceed to tie a knot around your pouch down toward the loose leaf tea.
  • Finish by adding the tag around the end of the twine.

Voilà! Simple and inexpensive wedding favor ideas that everyone will love. They are all such sweet treats and no guest at your wedding will leave without sharing a smile.
