Live! Your Wedding Day Recap

The Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach recently hosted ‘Live! Your Wedding Day’- the wedding sensory experience. The sensory experience was an all-inclusive event with wedding vendors on site to provide a taste of what they have to offer on your special day. Vendors included florists, musicians, wedding coordinators. Team Bridal Hot List was there on the scene to report.

The day began with a short mock ceremony accompanied by both a four piece string quartet and an acoustic guitar.  The musicians took turns showcasing different takes on classic wedding songs.

The mock ceremony included a couple doing a quick walk through in full wedding day attire. Even though they weren’t a real couple, they looked fantastic together!

raw_1103_std

Following the ceremony, we moved on to a cocktail hour in another reception area the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach has to offer. The cocktail hour was accompanied by The Marieve Herington Band and a dessert bar provided by the Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach. During this time, several models were on had to showcase trending wedding dress styles.

Lace was a big trend being showcased, as well as beautifully detailed backs. One of my favorite dresses was this short, mod-style wedding dress. The lace and the buttons are a major trend right now, and the detail on this is mesmerizing.

Following the gown showcase were the floral showcases courtesy of Paradise Delight Floral & Event Productions. The arrangements ranged from classic and beautiful to progressive and trendy.

My favorite arrangement was the display of calla lilies in the large flute glasses. The tones of the chevron runner and the flowers were beautiful, and the floating candles made the arrangement perfectly romantic.

This gorgeous reception hall also featured  Undercover Live Entertainment, where they got us dancing, and having a great time. Super high energy and fun!

There was another reception area set up with a DJ, beautiful floral arrangements, and a 3D photobooth. The arrangements here were provided by White Orchid Productions. Simply stunning!

Live! Your Wedding Day was an absolutely amazing experience and incredibly inspiring. Events like this are an excellent resource for newly engaged looking for inspiration. It was great to be able to window shop different wedding looks in all aspects of the wedding. The Hyatt Regency in Newport Beach was incredibly accommodating, as well as a gorgeous location for events.

Wedding Photo Fun from GC Photo Booth

Do you know what makes me happy? Fun times at weddings. Do you know what I love even more? Photo Booths! I live for them. It brings me back to a time when I would go to a carnival or amusement park and take silly and fun photos with my friends. We would all try to squeeze in the tiny little booth, and be totally ourselves. Then, in a matter of minutes that moment is captured forever as a keepsake. How about when you combine a photo booth with a fabulous wedding event? Total bliss. I mean, I just want to drop everything, pick out my props, and strike a pose. Always a happy time. Yep, if all I had was a photo booth and some friends to be silly with, I would be pretty content. THAT is how much I love them. So,  you can imagine how excited I am for today’s feature, introducing GC Photo Booth. They can help you and your guests have a amazing and memorable time at your wedding. Smiles and laughter all the way around.

About Marianne Lozano Photography

Marianne Lozano’s visionary, focused, editorial style has won the hearts of clients, designers and art directors around the world. At first glance, Marianne seems reserved and contemplative, quietly observing her environment and waiting for the next perfect moment to capture. When her emotional stories are frozen in time, it’s done in a seemingly effortless manner with an urbane sense of style, composition and focus that is evident in people who were born to take pictures. As you get to know Marianne, a confident, independent and warm human being with a lovely sense of humor is revealed.

Born in the Philippines, Lozano grew up with a loving, supportive family who encouraged her creativity and natural talent. She went on to study at the prestigious De La Salle University Manila, where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science as well as an MBA. But it was not until 2002, when she relocated to the United States and was exposed to all the opportunities and new ideas within this wonderful culture that Lozano realized she was truly meant to be a professional photographer. Here, she studied at the nationally respected commercial photography program at Santa Monica College, and since then has built a name and reputation as a photographer with a refined style and a distinctive signature quality all her own.

Her artistry, focus and direction as a professional photographer has earned her an elite group of clients, event planners and agents, booking local and international assignments throughout the year. She is regularly featured in noteworthy publications like Angeleno and Mojeh Magazine and she recently worked on a photo shoot for Bvlgari and Guess 30th Anniversary events.

An avid traveler and adventurer, Lozano’s most recent photographs in 2012 include trips through Italy, Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand and a trek to the Himalayas. Her love for travel and new experiences continue to develop her creative eye and give her a broader perspective on relationships and the immeasurable stories the world has to offer. Her well-traveled viewpoint and natural talent bring still images to life by telling a story without words. Marianne’s sense of humor, exuberance and refined style has attracted an incredible following.

Believe us now? Yep, we knew you would.

Santiago Oak Regional Park Engagement Session from Lucero Photography

They say that home is where the heart is. My heart is in Orange County, California. So that is why this engagement session fills my heart with so much joy and love. It is even more special, when the location of this session takes place at Santiago Oaks Regional Park, where one of the last orange groves are found. Growing up in Orange County, the memories of seeing orange grooves everywhere was exciting and sweet. When you would drive by an orange grove, your eyes would see not only a sea of oranges and lush greenery, but your nose would inhale the sweet fragrances. So, when you have a couple of nature loving sweethearts surrounded by orange trees, and a amazing photographer to capture it all, I am home.

Thank you to Lucero Photography for these sweet photos! Can you smell the sweetness? Enjoy the gallery below:

From Lucero Photography…

Meet Christine and David. This couple is very down to earth. They are both very nice and easy going pre-med students. They love nature, and that’s why they went with this local spot.  The location is at Santiago Oak Regional Park in Orange and it has one of the last orange groves in OC from what they tell me. They don’t normally let anyone shoot in this orange grove, but they’ve given me permission to a couple times. It was truly amazing!

Roswell Wedding from Famous William Photography

All I have to say about this wedding is: DIY, GORGEOUS, and SWEET. I am amazed by all the incredible personal touches that this couple brought to their wedding. It is fun, full of joy, and style savvy. I have to admit, I want to shrink myself to a two dimensional version of myself and live in these photos. Which by the way, were all beautifully captured by Famous William Photography.

From Famous William Photography…

Meet Katie and David. Their wedding venue was Roswell River Landing. They had a wedding theme of “Garden Party” and their colors were blue and yellow. The majority of their wedding was entirely DIY. For example: They provided all of the decorations. Katie cut the flowers from their own garden, she made the boutonnieres for the men, she did her own hair and make up, and she also made her jewelry (necklace and earrings).  Katie told us,”We tried to either make or find (in second hand or vintage shops) our wedding details – the rest were family or personal mementos we have collected from trips. We wanted everything to feel personal and this is what helped us achieve that goal!” – Not only was their wedding decorating details done by them, but David made their wedding bands out of wood, and they’re beautiful!! In addition to this, Katie’s engagement ring didn’t contain a diamond. Instead, it contained moissanite, which is only found in tiny amounts on the surface of meteorites. It was designed by “Down to the Wire Designs”. Beautiful!

What Famous William Photography  shares…

They had two parts to their engagement session, part one being in Downtown Marietta, Georgia, and the other part at the Georgia Aquarium. A cool fact about that is that the Georgia Aquarium is actually the largest aquarium in the United States :) They have more than 8.5 million gallons of water and 120,000 different animals. Most people ask how you could possibly have an engagement session in such a busy and filled place, but the people there were really respectful of, and even interested in the shoot. Some people even stopped and watched this beautiful couple. It was really peaceful.

Los Angeles Engagement Session from Kingston19 Photography

At BHL we are thrilled for all the newly engaged couples. So, to start the year off right, we are featuring our first engagement session on BHL. This will be one of many amazing photo shoots which we will be sharing. Our first photographer is a very talented and creative photographer who uses natural light during photo sessions. We have been a huge fan, and we have to admit, we are totally in love with this photographer. Blush Blush.

Kingston19 photography captured this beautiful couple as they strolled the streets of downtown Los Angeles, California.  We’re  head over heels with this photo shoot and it’s location. Just in love.

Meet Mallory and Kris.  Mallory choose this location (downtown LA) because her mother worked there as a child and she had fond memories of visiting her there.  We met at the Bradbury Building, this is where the shoot should’ve taken place in it’s entirety.  Turns out they no longer allow photography there and they were also filming a movie.  I begged the guard to take a few shots because we’d driven so far to take photos there.  He agreed :) But we literally had ten minutes and could only use the stairs.  Mallory and Kris were really good about it, but we were forced to go to plan B.  We walked around downtown and photographed them on the way.  On the streets of LA another security guard came up to us and said we couldn’t photograph there…apparently all the security guards were doing their jobs to the fullest that day :)

So on to plan C, we headed over to the Walt Disney Concert Hall to finish up as the sun was setting.  Mallory and Kris didn’t let the day’s challenges affect them at all.  We all embraced the idea of being all around the city.  They’re truly a sweet and loving couple that know how to make the best of any situation and have fun.

Santa Barbara Wedding from Sara Jordan Photography

This intimate wedding is simply beautiful.  The type of wedding that can take sparkle bridal shoes and mix them with a beautiful lace gown for a look that is so effortless, you think that the pair was always meant for each other. Just like this couple who come together and share their love with close friends and family. The images are captured by  Sara Jordan Photography who showcases the sweetest moments of the day.

From Sara Jordan Photography:

Aimee and Robert wanted a small ceremony with close relatives only, in order to avoid the mess and fuss of a big traditional wedding. The couple loves Santa Barbara. Robert who is an architecture photographer felt that the Santa Barbara Court House would be the perfect backdrop for their small intimate ceremony.

The couple got ready at a cute bed and breakfast called The Treasure Cat. The cutest part of their getting ready was the gift exchange prior to the ceremony. The couple wanted to be traditional and not see each other before hand so the bride’s sister and I were arranging the logistics. They really wanted to make sure I capture each other’s faces while they were opening each other’s gifts. After opening the gifts the bride put on her stunning dress. Amy who is simply gorgeous looked absolutely stunning.

Their ceremony was amazing. They reserved the entire courtyard at the Santa Barbara Courthouse for several hours. Which means no one else was allowed to be in the area. After the ceremony we walked around the courthouse taking photos. The reception was lunch only at the Wine and Cast. The couple spent time reserving and planning everything. Prior to lunch they met with the chef and he prepared a special meal for them. The couple reserved the entire outdoor patio area. During the ceremony and reception they hired an acoustic guitarist to play the whole time.

One thing I love about smaller weddings is you really avoid the time pressures you have with traditional weddings. They are very unstructured and I have as much time as I need to get shots. They’re easier to plan and I find them to be just as special as the bigger weddings.
