Urban Vintage NYC Wedding

My vintage loving heart is beating pretty hard right now. It is all due to this incredible New York City wedding and some of  loveliest details I have seen. This wedding is all about the details, and these details are nothing short of style, glamour, and elegance.  I have to talk about the bride’s shoes for a moment.  These shoes are what you call, bling bling. Oh my goodness, I can not stop staring at them.  They are amazing! This gorgeous couple look like movie stars on their wedding day, and I had a hard time choosing which photos to feature, so I think I shared most of them! Thanks to  Zorz Studios for capturing the true love and beauty of this couple and their wedding day. Your week is about to get it really good as we kick it off with this superb NYC vintage wedding.

From Zorz Studios...

Heather and Brian worked in insurance for the same big company but never actually ran into each other in the building, partly because Brian at the time worked as an outside Rep and didn’t come into the office frequently. They met each other out at a company sponsored event, after which point became inseparable.
The bride got ready at the beautiful Wythe Hotel with amazing floor-to-ceiling windows of the Manhattan skyline, and an interior staircase leading to a private terrace. Surrounded by the toile wallpaper, and beautiful exposed beams, she was in love with the space and felt completely calm and at ease getting ready with her beautiful bridesmaids.
For the ceremony, Heather wore a gorgeous lace mermaid gown which she found at The Bridal Garden, a not-for-profit bridal boutique in New York City in which all proceeds benefit education for disadvantaged children. “It was awesome to know my purchase went to such a terrific cause! I bought it off the rack and it fit me almost perfectly!” says the bride.
Brian gifted Heather a locket with a picture inside of her mom and her. Her mother had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s a few years ago and was physically not able to attend the wedding and this was extremely difficult for the bride.
We expected the heavy rain… Just as the skies opened and it started to pour, we arrived safe and dry inside Jane’s Carousel where I managed to capture the incredible moments and some of clients’ favorite pictures are of them outside in the rain!
The couple fell in love with The Green Building for its effortlessly beautiful interior and the vintage flair. The Green Building was previously a brass foundry and has beautiful original brick walls, exposed beam ceilings, gold chandeliers, and even a back speakeasy room equipped with vintage decor and red velvet curtains. Their vendors helped create a warm and intimate setting.
“The rabbi read our vows of why we wanted to marry each other, the touching vows Brian wrote brought me to tears and my favorite part during the ceremony was when Brian reached over to wipe my tears away,” says Heather. “I am Jewish and Brian Protestant, so we decided to fuse our backgrounds by incorporating an Irish ‘hand-fasting’ and a stomping of the glass, both beautiful traditions and incredibly sentimental.”
After the dinner, dancing, and cake we ended with a food truck by Wafels & Dinges which was a huge hit! Paying homage to the speakeasy theme, guests took home little bottles of whiskey.

From Bee Photography, LLC

The theme of this shoot was “Vintage Tea Garden.” I teamed up with Yasmen Katrina Events and we decided to put our heads together and make something MAGICAL. So  we choose it because we wanted to do something which reflected the old rustic vintage European countryside, but at the same time a bit different, and sparkly. Yasmen and I wanted to do the shoot outdoors, and add greenery when we saw The Bramble Tree Estates we knew it would be the perfect venue. Our inspiration was a mix of personal things; Yasmen’s favorite color: blush, and her childhood memories in the English countryside, and also we both love Marie Antoinette European feel. We would have to say we fell in love with chandelier from Vintage Chic Affairs, the chandelier florals from Arrangements, oh did we mention the fabulous settee? The dress was also one of our favorite, because it added just enough sparkle to the theme. The inspiration for the shoot centered around merging the old vintage theme with a more modern sparkle which gave the ability to merge two different feels and era’s into one beautiful, soft yet sparkly day. I chose some rustic pieces, such as the chandelier and the settee, while adding in soft, sweet pieces like the sweetheart chairs and soft blue linen. Yasmen added the glamorous gold flatware to pop on the soft vintage mismatched china to keep in mind the contrast between vintage and sparkly. We loved this shoot for many reasons: the blush and white flowers among all the greenery, both in the centerpiece and the chandelier, the look of the vintage tablescape, with the pop of glamorous gold on blue linen, and the way we were able to use an open green field and turn it into a romantic wedding space.

Industrial Vintage Southern Wedding

This bride’s “something blue” is one of my favorites. Blue probably ranks high on my color spectrum list, and this shade of blue is on top of that list.  This Southern bride incorporated the beautiful blue color in more than one way. The stunning bridal shoes, the elegant garter, the darling bridesmaid’s dresses, and other small reception details. It is that pop of blue that ties this wedding together so beautifully.  All set at a venue where industrial meets vintage.   Can I please  time travel and go back to the moment these two say ” I do”, and be a part of this Southern wedding? Not a Southern gal, but this wedding makes me want to travel to the South and enjoy all the pretty details.  What makes this wedding even more amazing? A talented photographer, Andie Freeman Photography, who is after my wedding photo loving heart. Captured every moment just perfectly. Each image is makes me smile and say “WOW”.

Erin and Ricky married in a beautiful vintage, industrial wedding  location.  It was a stunning display of understated fashion with exquisite details..  Erin and Ricky chose a wedding venue that is a converted Industrial cotton mill called The Engine Room.  And it rained. . .I mean rained. . .The whole day.  Poured the rain.  Fortunately, we had lots of natural light from the large windows that grace the venue.  And I could not have asked for a more amazing wedding day!!  Fun and relaxed, we had a great time!

The brides favorite detail of her wedding day were the “button” on her bouquet.  She states, “My grandfather had passed a few years back from lung caner and his US Navy lapel pins were used as the “buttons” on my bouquet.

TLC’s Four Weddings Winning Bride: Season Premiere

Good morning weekenders! It is nice to have TLC’s “Four Weddings” back on our weekends, isn’t it? I think so. It totally makes me want to jump out of bed and talk about the winner from the season premiere. Yep, I am pretty excited. The winning bride from Thursday’s episode is Chantall! Congrats to this bride and all her gorgeous planning. Her Southern vintage wedding scored her a total of 90 points out of 120 points. Here is the breakdown.

Venue: 23 points
Dress:  22 points
Experience: 23 points
Food: 22 points

TLC

The other three brides really liked the venue the best, as she scored the highest in this category. The venue was at an old Plantation. The ceremony took place under the oldest tree on the property. The venue really sets the scene for the wedding, and this venue totally complimented Chantall’s vintage elegant theme. All the gorgeous details of the old world charm was evident in this venue. The perfect place for this bride and her groom. Nice choice Chantall! I really loved this venue as well. The barn where the reception took place was so rustic and all the beautiful flowers and vintage touches came together so well. A lovely space for such an elegant affair. I live for vintage, so when I saw this venue and all the decor, I was in complete love.

Congrats to Chantall for winning an all expenses paid honeymoon. After all the planning of her romantic and elegant vintage wedding, together with her husband, she is ready to pack her bags, and journey to a place of relaxation and luxury. Sounds like a great time. Enjoy Chantall, you deserve it!

BHL Vendor Hot Pick: Found Vintage Rentals

bridal-hot-list-vendor-hot-pickI know sometimes when Monday’s roll around, it is really hard to get going and start the week off. I mean, you have to say goodbye to the weekend, and hello to a work week. But when you have a fabulous new vendor added to our “Vendor Hot Picks”, Monday just became my favorite day of the week. I am talking about a vendor who seriously knows how to impress. One that has me swooning over all the amazing details they have to offer. All courtesy of Found Vintage Rentals. I had the pleasure of visiting the fantastic warehouse where all the magical genius happens. I was so enraptured by all the charming and inspiring details, I could not turn my eyes away.  I did not want to miss one single item. But I know I did…there was THAT many fabulous things that had my vintage loving heart swooning the whole time. I have to admit…I kind of wanted to sneak and hide behind one of the lovely couches and live there. If I could. Yep, that is how much I am in love with Found Vintage Rentals.

I have always been a huge fan of vintage, but after today, I will forever be a fan of Found Vintage Rentals.  Oh, you will see why in a second when you browse through all the gorgeousness.

Re-imagined masterpieces like couches freshly upholstered in European homespun fabric marry the old and new. Each piece in the Found Vintage Rentals collection is hand-picked for its charm and history. The collection at Found has been rented for special events such as weddings, birthday parties, and corporate meetings as well as church retreats and trade shows. The curated objects add personality and a one-of-a-kind look to photo shoots, pop-up shops, family portrait sessions, and film sets. As the pioneer in vintage rentals, Jeni’s unique style, unlimited creativity, and impeccable taste continue to lead the industry. Whether renting a single statement piece or roomfuls of furniture and accessories, Found’s clients seek distinctive pieces to add warmth and personality to their celebrations and sets.
