TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: December 20th

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLCHere is a recap of the episode:

Who are the Brides?:

  • Amanda is a bride who loves men in uniform. This formal wedding took place at a historical hotel where both the ceremony and reception were set. The ceremony was beautifully decorated with white flowers down the aisle and all over the alter. The bridesmaid’s dresses were all designed and styled by the bride herself. The dresses were pink with a high slit on one side of the dress. The men were dressed in their military uniforms. The reception styled with purple up-lighting, tall white flower centerpieces, cupcake place seating, and a blinged out cake. All tiers of the cake were covered with rhinestones. Amanda and her groom along with their guests danced to a salsa band.
  • StacyAnn is a Jamaican bride who loves purple. The ceremony took place at a beautiful church. The church details included stained glass windows, woodwork ceilings, and simple decor with a touch of purple. The bridesmaids wore lavender colored dresses. The reception was at a Italian style venue with hanging chandeliers, tall vaulted ceilings,  and stunning tall mirrors. The cocktail hour featured steel drums, Caribbean flavored food, and other food stations. The reception had blue color up-lighting, purple candle centerpieces, dancing, and a ice cream bar. There were two cakes, one simple white cake with white and purple roses, and the other was a traditional Italian style cake.
  • Larissa is a bride who adores butterflies. Larissa and her groom had a traditional Catholic ceremony set at a gorgeous church. The ceremony featured fuchsia, pink, and white colors, baby pink and fuchsia bridesmaid’s short dresses and ushers escorting each guest to their seat.  Prior to entering the ballroom, guests found their table seating by looking for their escort card which were placed in a grass box. The ballroom had pink toned coloring, grand chandeliers hanging, butterfly ice sculptures, and a beautiful cake with cascading flowers and butterflies. The dance floor was like a party, with everyone dancing the night away.
  • Kathy loves the ocean and has a beach side wedding. Set on the sand, the ceremony features white chairs, tall white stands with large white flowers on top, and a alter full of white flowers.Cocktail hour provided guests with a variety of food stations like Asian food, seafood, and carving stations. The inside of the reception had red, black and white colors throughout.  Each guest table had a tall centerpiece with floating white orchids and a huge chandelier topper, surrounded by a few vases with floating orchids and candle on top. Dessert consisted of cake, candy apples, cotton candy, popcorn, and ice cream.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What was really amazing at Amanda’s wedding was after they got married at the ceremony, they walked through the arch of swords.  I thought this was a wonderful way to incorporate the military element to the wedding. It is something that is special to the groom who is in the army, and also the bride who really wanted to have a formal military wedding. I loved this! At StacyAnn’s ceremony, the bridesmaids met the groomsmen halfway down the aisle and were presented their bouquet.  This was something unique that I had never seen at any other wedding. I thought it was pretty nice!  Larissa’s dress was absolutely stunning on her. It was a simple dress with a fitted top, and then flowed out on at the bottom, and a pink satin sash on the waist.  It was simple, yet very elegant and sweet. She looked amazing!  What I thought was so heartfelt at Kathy’s wedding was the unity candle ceremony. Kathy and her groom included their six children in lighting the candle. I thought this was very sweet as it was the coming together of both families into one. Very touching!

Who won? Congrats to Larissa for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to Costa Rica. I was not surprised about Larissa winning at all, she seemed to deserve it! While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue, dress, and originality – were owned by Larissa’s wedding, easily exceeding the rest. I thought that every detail of her wedding reflected her butterfly theme. You can see how sweet and elegant the butterfly theme showed throughout the wedding.  Amazing job Larissa!  So how did the other three brides score? Amanda came in second, Kathy in third, and StacyAnn in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results?

TLC’s Four Weddings Holiday Special Episode Recap: December 6th

Did you watch last night’s Holiday Special episode of “Four Weddings” on TLCHere is a recap of the episode:

TLC’s Holiday Special of “Four Weddings”

Who are the Brides?:

  • Nancy absolutely loves Christmas and everything that it is. She is a Santa loving bride who wants to bring the Christmas spirit to all her guests at her wedding. The ceremony took place at a beautiful church where they had a traditional Catholic ceremony. The ceremony featured simple holiday decor, red rose petals, and bridesmaids wearing red dresses. The cocktail hour served a variety of food options for guests to choose from. Including a full size pig! The reception was held in gorgeous ballroom with a snowman, Christmas tree, and tall glass centerpieces which had snow-covered branches, a wreath, and red roses. Guests were handed out Santa Claus hats and Reindeer ears to wear and have some holiday fun. Santa even showed up and handed out candy canes! The live band played all night and guests danced the night away.
  • Davone a winter princess bride who enchants her guests at her wedding. The ceremony was a magical place. The room was decorated with all white decor and blue up-lighting. There were beautiful white branches with white twinkle lights, Christmas trees, white chairs, and white flowers. A true winter wonderland feeling.  After the cocktail hour, guests go upstairs to the ballroom where the reception took place. The winter wonderland theme and all its sparkles continued in the reception. The ballroom featured a white cake with snowflakes and sparkles, sparkle table numbers, diamond ring napkin holders, and beautiful white branched centerpieces. The dancing was full of high energy and fun.  Davone also changed into a second dress which showed off her bling bling shoes.
  • Lauren is a bride who wants to go back in time and have a Victorian Christmas wedding. The ceremony was at a church which featured white flowers, a cute little girl walking down the aisle, long flowing Victorian style dress with a long veil, and a red bridal bouquet.  Lauren loves the snow and had it snow as guests walked into the venue where the cocktail hour and reception took place. The elegant ballroom had hanging large chandeliers, candelabras with flowers surrounding it on the guest tables, with all that highlighted with nice gold lighting. Dinner was a buffet with variety of choices. Not only were the guests having a good time on the dance floor, but the couple as well. Lauren took off her groom’s shirt and started to dance with him on the dance floor!
  • Sakinah brings in the New Year with all her guests at her wedding. A beautiful glassed room is where the ceremony takes place. There are white flowers, a few holiday decor, and white twinkle lights above. She surprised all her guests including her groom by wearing a red dress at the ceremony. It was a beautiful long dress which flowed open wide at the bottom and was accessorized with a lovely red hairpiece. The reception space had red, black, and white colors, huge flower arrangements on top of a tall vase on all the reception tables, and lots of line dancing. Since it was New Years Eve, guests got to wear New Years Eve hats and tiaras, and use the noise makers and blow-horns. Sakinah changed into her second dress which was a fitted red dress. She was ready to celebrate the New Year countdown.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each holiday themed wedding that stood out for me. Nancy’s dress was a form-fitting beautiful dress which had glittering twigs on the front, and tulle cupped sleeves. The dress fit her like a glove, and was just perfect for her. I really loved her dress!  What I loved at Davone’s wedding was the personal vows shared between her and her partner Tiffany. The vows were very touching and heartfelt. You just could tell how in love this couple was and that true love was there for everyone to feel and experience. It was just magical and special, just like her winter wonderland theme. I really enjoyed it.  Lauren’s reception featured a special performance of bagpipes dedicated to Lauren’s groom. Her groom is a firefighter and this was a way to celebrate him. I thought this was very personal and a special way to include the groom and highlight what he does. I think for the most part, brides will say it is their day, but it really is a day for the groom too. So I thought this was a great way to incorporate him. What I really liked at Sakinah’s wedding was the whole idea of having a New Years Eve theme wedding. What a great way to start the New Year with your new husband and all your guests.  There was a countdown, red balloons were dropped, and then a total party vibe was created. How unique and fun to go to a wedding for a New Years Eve party? How fun!

Who won? Congrats to Nancy for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to a ski and spa resort in Alaska. I was actually surprised about Nancy winning. I am normally pretty good about guessing who the winner will be each week, so was shocked when Santa came out the limo.  Do you want to know who I thought would win? Devone! While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue, dress, and originality – were owned by Devone’s wedding, easily exceeding the rest. I thought that every detail of her wedding reflected her diamond winter wonderland theme. In any case, Nancy did have a killer dress and fit her perfectly! I did love it, so great job Nancy!  So how did the other three brides score? Lauren came in second, Devone in third, and Sakinah in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results like I was?

TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: November 29th

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLCHere is a recap of the episode:

TLC’s “Four Weddings” Episode November 29th

Who are the Brides?:

  • Becky is an over the top bride who wanted to wow her guests at her wedding. The wedding took place at their home which was transformed into a circus theme setting. As guests entered the backyard, there was a ticket booth with a ticket person who  provided guests with programs. The ceremony featured a stage where the couple, best man, maid of honor, and officiant stood.  The groom was the master of ceremonies and welcomed all the guests before the bride and her 1940’s bridal party walked down the aisle. The ceremony was very unique as they had a reenactment of how the couple met with improv actors playing it out. The reception space was also outside and featured wild animals, dinner stations, fun circus decor, and a performance of a twirling fire show.
  • Carrie a fairytale princess bride who had a fairytale wedding out on sea. The wedding took place on a beautiful yacht where all the festivities took place. The ceremony decor was simple yet featured lovely purple colors and flowers. The captain of the ship married the princess and her Prince Charming. The theme of fairytale wedding was featured all throughout the wedding. The guest favors were stuffed animal prince frogs with kiss marks all over them. The reception continued with a money dance, a cupcake cutting, and stunning views of the San Francisco Bay for guests to enjoy.
  • Evelyn is a bride who celebrates her ten year anniversary with her husband at their second wedding. Since the first time around they did not have a traditional wedding, this time, they had a traditional Filipino Catholic ceremony. The ceremony took place at a beautiful church and featured fuchsia, pink, and white colors, flowers in vases, and the couple’s daughters walking their mom down the aisle. The Filipino Catholic ceremony featured drapery wrapped around the couple, and a unity rope which tied them together. The reception was at unique location and took place at the Space and Science Center in Oakland, California. Guests enjoyed a dinner buffet and then had the opportunity to walk around the museum and enjoy some of the interesting exhibits. Some exhibits like trying to land a space shuttle on the moon, or taking a photo in a space suit.
  • Tanaya is hopeless romantic bride who had a vintage romantic wedding. Set at a public park, the ceremony had mason jars with flowers hanging from the ceremony chairs, personal touching vows, and a flow of bubbles in the air once the couple was married. The vintage romantic feel continued at the groom’s family home. The cocktail hour took place in the front of the house and guests enjoyed various types of cheese plates.  The backyard served as the reception space and was perfect for the romantic garden feel. With hanging paper flowers on the trees, glass jars with flowers at each guest table, and beautiful greenery, the backyard was set as a rustic romantic setting. Food trucks were parked outside with various choices for dinner. Guests walked up, put in their order, and sat back down to eat their dinner. Dessert were little bags of beignets which guests seem to enjoy.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I loved at Becky’s wedding was that instead of a traditional cake cutting, they actually cut a piece of pie. Various pies were also shared with their guests to enjoy. I think it is great because it totally goes with the whole circus theme, and its not traditional. How fun!   Carrie’s dress was a gorgeous big ball gown dress which flowed out so beautifully.  Her groom is blind and so she wanted the dress to have many great textures so he can feel them. I thought how wonderful and sweet this is, so the groom can imagine how she looks on their wedding day. That even though he can not “see” her in her dress, he could still enjoy his beautiful bride. I loved this!   Evelyn’s wedding was a family affair as both of their children were incorporated into their wedding. Not only at the ceremony, but the reception as well. The two girls performed a special dance for their parents. I thought this was such a sweet idea that not only the parents enjoyed but their guests as well. What I thought was absolutely unique at Tanaya’s wedding was the rustic outside door which had two flower displays on top, and set as their backdrop for their ceremony. Instead of a traditional altar, they had this beautiful door which totally brought in the vintage romantic feel. I had to rewind that part and see that door again! That is how much I was amazed by it.

Who won? Congrats to Tanaya for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to Mexico.  I was not surprised about Tanaya winning at all, she seemed to deserve it! While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue, dress, and originality – were owned by Tanaya’s wedding, easily exceeding the rest. I thought that every detail of her wedding reflected her vintage romantic theme. You can tell the true love that she shared with her groom because it was evident in every aspect of her wedding. It looked like a happy, fun, and lovely wedding to be at, and I’m sure viewers (like me) could tell how in love the couple was. Great job Tanaya!  So how did the other three brides score? Becky came in second, Evelyn in third, and Carrie in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results?

TLC’s Four Weddings Thanksgiving Special Episode Recap: November 22nd

Did you watch last night’s Thanksgiving special episode of “Four Weddings” on TLCHere is a recap of the episode:

Special Thanksgiving episode of TLC’s “Four Weddings”

Who are the Brides?:

  • Judy’s daughter is Jessica who is a princess bride who marry’s her Prince Charming. Jessica had a fairytale wedding which took place  at a magnificent castle.  The ceremony took place outside the gorgeous castle overlooking the ocean. Jessica wore a princess style dress, fitted on the top and flowed wide on the bottom. The couple shared personal vows with each other.  Following the cocktail hour, guests headed inside the castle for the reception. The reception featured a dinner buffet, cigar station, and each guest took home a key styled bottle opener.
  • Beth’s daughter is Brianna who is a laid back and relaxed bride. Brianna had a very unique wedding  that took place at the aquarium. As guests walked in, they passed by  the stingray display, and had a chance to touch them! Her ceremony took place under a beautiful gazebo featuring traditional Irish bagpipes and ancient Celtic ritual of hand-fasting. The reception took place inside and had some wonderful features. It had beautiful tall flower centerpieces, penguin ice sculptures, and a very cute sweetheart table.
  • Karma’s daughter is Kassondra is a party loving bride who loves to have a good time. The ceremony took place inside with the bridesmaids in dark blue dresses and groomsmen in grey suits. The ceremony was very touching and ended with the jumping of the broom. The ceremony space flipped to a gorgoues reception space with touches of pink. The night was not dull or boring, actually the opposite. Karma danced all night long at her daughter’s wedding along with all the other guests. A total party vibe for all the guests to enjoy.
  • Gisella daughter is Concetta who is an Italian bride who loves everything Italian. Her ceremony was at a gorgeous church featuring stunning stained glass windows and beautiful murals. The ceremony was traditional yet had humor which the minister shared with everyone. Gisella’s dress was long, with a beaded top, and a lovely long veil which she wore all night. Gisella insisted that her daughter needed to wear it all day long. So she did! The cocktail hour had a large spread of various foods offered for all the guests to enjoy. There was barbecue ribs, a seafood bar, a pasta station, fruit, chicken, lobsters and more.  Yes, lobsters at the cocktail hour. The reception took place inside a lovely banquet hall which was decorated very elegantly. Hanging chandeliers, beautiful branches with twinkle lights on them, and lighted tables. A very whimsical feel. Concetta and her gests danced to the music of a live band.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. Jessica shared wishing lanterns with all her guests.Wishing lanterns are airborne lanterns that are sent up in to the air. At nightfall, each guest lit a lantern, made a wish, and sent off the beautiful lanterns into the night sky. I thought this was something very special that each guest was able to take part of and very memorable. It also made for a beautiful night scene.  Brianna’s  venue was very unique and offered features which you normally would not see at a wedding. I absolutely loved the idea of having the cocktail hour surrounded by all the exhibits. From crabs, to an assortment of fish, octopus, and even sharks. It was neat to be able to dine with the sharks! I think that it was something pretty cool.  Kassondra’s wedding reception did not have the traditional flower or candle centerpieces. Instead, each table had a cake for a centerpiece! I thought this was a pretty unique idea and was very cute. Once it was dessert time, the cake was replaced by a plate of chocolate covered strawberries. How great is that? What I loved at Concetta’s wedding was the four course dinner menu. Guests could choose from seven entrees. Normally, if it is a sit down dinner, you have two maybe three choices to choose from, however at this wedding, you can choose from seven! I think that food is one of the most important elements of a wedding. If your guests have options, good options and it tastes good, then they will have a better time. Otherwise, you will just have a bad taste in your mouth, and nobody wants that. Having such a large amount of food and choices worked perfectly for an Italian style wedding.

Who’s daughter won? Congrats to Gisella for winning her daughter a honeymoon!  Her daughter and groom won an all expenses paid honeymoon to the countryside of France.  I was not surprised about Concetta winning at all, she seemed to deserve it! While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue, dress, and originality – were owned by Concetta’s wedding, easily exceeding the rest. I thought that every detail of her wedding reflected her Italian theme. The expansive spread of food, the gorgeous church, and whimsical decor all came together perfectly. It looked like a joyful, fun, and elegant wedding to be at, and I’m sure viewers (like me) could tell how in love the couple was. Great job Gisella and Concetta! Concetta’s mom help plan this amazing wedding for her daughter, and she did it all right.  So how did the other three brides score? Judy’s daughter Jessica came in second, Beth’s daughter Brianna in third, and Karma’s daughter Kassondra in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results?
