TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: February 22nd

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLC?  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? If you missed it, we have a recap of the episode:

Who are the Brides?:

  • Irina, a bride who wants to share her Russian traditions and then some. What a better place than to have a wedding at a Russian restaurant. Inside the restaurant, there are tall ceilings, beautiful artwork. red and white colored decor, and some Christmas decorations. The room is laid out in theater style, with guest tables on three different levels. The ceremony started with the bridesmaids in their short red dresses, and then the bride with her parents walking her down the aisle. Under white drapery with red and white flowers, the couple stands. After breaking of the glass, they are married. After enjoying cocktail hour and appetizers, Irina and her husband enter from above and float down while inside a Russian egg structure. Dinner is served and guests seem to really enjoy it.
  • Dana is a bride who loves the outdoors and has a ranch style wedding. The day starts outside at a horse ranch, where the ceremony takes place. The ceremony chairs are arranged in a circle under a tree, surrounded by white rose petals. Around the circle of chairs are mason jars with candles in them. At sunset, the ceremony begins and the bride enters from a old classic white car.  During cocktail hour, guests can enjoy seeing the horses in their stables. The reception inside had a rustic and warm feel. The tables had burlap, gold chargers, candles, and white flower centerpieces. On the dance-floor during crazy hour, Santa shows up, and dances with all the guests.
  • Geysell is a bride who is in love with all things Paris. She has a french style wedding with all the Parisian elements. The ceremony took place outside surrounded by tall trees, and waterfalls. Down the red colored aisle runner,  the groomsmen wore Latin style outfits, and the bridesmaids in green long dresses. After cocktail hour and some appetizers, guests are invited inside a rustic style space for the reception. There was a long rectangular table in the middle and then round tables around. The guest tables had a champagne colored over lay linens, gold satin napkins, and a green, white, and pink flower centerpieces in a gold vase. Following dinner, there was a nice array of desserts including macaroons made by the bride.  During the “crazy hour”, there were sexy lady dancers dancing with all the guests.
  • Kimberly loves romance and the color red.She went with the white hot romance theme for her wedding.  Her wedding took place at a golf course clubhouse. The day begins on the golf course, where her ceremony takes place. On the gazebo, there are red roses and other red flowers with hanging crystals. Down the aisle, there is white draping with red roses tied to the white chairs.  The ceremony featured her two dogs dressed in suits, and then the bride and her father down the aisle. Inside the clubhouse the colors of red and white are seen throughout. The guest tables had a white tree with hanging candles and crystals, all inside a crystal box full of red roses. The dance floor featured drummers and guests danced the night away.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I thought was super unique at  Irina’s reception was the Russian performance. There were dancers, music, acrobatic dancers, magic, and a tiger. Yes, a tiger! I thought that it was a great idea to include this type of entertainment. I thought it tied in to the whole Russian theme. It was amazing!   I fell in love with the personal vows that the Dana and her groom shared at their ceremony. It was personal and from the heart, pure romance. I just love when couples share their love with each other in this manner.  I loved Geysell’s brooch bouquet! I think it was so beautiful and a nice touch for her French theme. I loved the colors and how it went well with the whole color scheme of her wedding.  At Kimberly’s  wedding, I absolute loved her wedding cake. It was a six tier white cake with red roses and bling. I thought it was very romantic and was perfect for her romantic wedding theme. So stunning!

The winner, Kimberly

The winner, Kimberly

Who won?: Congrats to Kimberly for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to the coast of Barbados. So I am not totally surprised about Kimberly winning. While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, I did like the originality, venue, and the dress at Kimberly’s wedding. She has mentioned that she had planned her wedding by watching this show of “Four Wedding”. You know what? It paid off!  All the details of red, white, and romance were put together so beautifully. Kimberly  planned a romantic affair. Great job Kimberly!   So how did the other three brides score? Dana came in second, and guess what? Irina and Geysell tie for third place! Were you surprised by the results? Love to hear from you, so please share!

TLC’s Four Weddings Winning Groom: February 15th

Who was the winning groom from Friday’s TLC’s Special episode of “Four Weddings: Grooms Take Over”?  Rick!  Even though he was in the drivers seat for most of the planing,  he really wanted to make sure there was some bling in the wedding details, and that all paid off.  Rick’s simple and sparkle wedding was elegant and chic. It scored Rick a total score of 83 points out of 120 points. Here is the breakdown.

Venue: 19 points
Bride’s Dress:  19points
Experience: 19 points
Food: 26 points

The other three grooms really liked the food at Rick’s wedding.  Rick scored the highest points in this category.  The menu featured:

  • Starter :Cucumber salad
  • Main Course: Choice of Chicken stuffed Risotto, or Fillet Mignon with Shrimp

Seemed that these choices were right and the other grooms really enjoyed what they ate! I always say that food is one of the most important elements at the wedding. It is something guests will talk about, whether it was bad or good. However, you really want to serve food which guests will really enjoy!   Congrats to Rick for winning an all expenses paid honeymoon. After all the planning of his wedding with his bride, the couple is now ready for a relaxing honeymoon.

Here is a look back at Rick’s wedding:

Recap of TLC’s Special Episode of “Four Weddings”: Grooms Take Over

Did you watch last night’s special episode of “Four Weddings: Grooms Take Over” on TLC?  What did you think about the groom’s view of the weddings? Was it interesting to see what they thought about all the details? If you missed the episode,  here is a recap:

Who are the Grooms?:

Grooms showing their ring boxes w/ rings Rick, David, Ryan and John.

Grooms showing their ring boxes w/ rings Rick, David, Ryan and John.

  • Ryan is a groom who planned most of the wedding and added touches of butterflies for his bride. The day begins at a beautiful botanical garden outside. Surrounded by greenery and flowers, personal vows were shared at their ceremony. At the end of their ceremony, the groom surprises his bride with a gift. The gift was a box of butterflies, and when opened, they flew out. Cocktail hour was limited to two cheese dishes.  Inside the reception space, there were personal touches throughout. From the jars with little Lego figurines, butterflies, to the first dance. The first dance was a choreographed number by Ryan. The bride changed into a silver sparkle dress to dance with her husband. Even though it was still daytime, guests were on the dance floor.
  • Rick who together with his bride like some bling at their wedding. Their traditional ceremony takes place in a church, featured baby blue bridesmaids dresses, and groomsmen wearing sneakers. Prior to the reception, with four hours to go, the guest grooms enjoy some golf time. The reception was in a country club, and inside the room, were simple decorations. The centerpieces were tall vases with light purple and white flowers. After a heart felt first dance, guests are served dinner. The dance floor is full, as guests dance the night away.
  • John loves to dance and have a good time. His day begins in a church where a Catholic ceremony took place. Ryan’s son stood by him as his best man. The decor was white bows on the pews, and large flower arrangements in the front. The cocktail hour had a variety of food stations. Inside the grand ballroom, it featured stunning chandeliers, a large dance floor, and glass vases with floating candles and  orange colored flowers.  The cake was a four tiered cake with orange flowers cascading down the front. Guests took home a small bottle of wine as a wedding favor. The dancing was for sure happening and Ryan partied on with his wife.
  • David is a chef and created the entire menu for his wedding day. Before any eating, the ceremony took place inside a tall gazebo style room with windows around. The ceremony featured two tree like decor with hanging candles, and colors of purple and green. The beautiful ballroom had hanging chandeliers, purple up lighting, and colors of gold and purple. The centerpiece was a green moss base with branches which had purple flowers and hanging candles. The cake was a purple, and white colored  six tiered cake with a large purple egg as a cake topper. The customized menu was a choice of steak or salmon.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. At Ryan’s wedding I loved the escort cards. But they were not your typical escort cards, They were Lego stands, and a Lego person resembling the person’s character made of Lego. For example, if someone was a police officer  for a profession, their Lego person was a police officer made of Legos. It was the most unique escort card idea I have ever seen.  Super cool and personal. Rick’s cake was absolutely gorgeous. It was a four tiered white cake with a touch of bling. I liked that the bling did not over take the cake. The cake was very elegant and perfect for a wedding.  What I thought was super sweet was that John and his son wore matching tuxedos. I thought this was a great way to involve his son, and make him feel special on such an important day. What I loved at David’s wedding was that they incorporated their dog in the wedding ceremony. I think that dogs are part of the family, and why not include them in your wedding day. I thought it was really cute!

Which groom won? Congrats to Rick for winning!  He won an all expenses paid honeymoon to the Caribbean island of Grenada.  I was not surprised about Rick winning at all, he seemed to deserve it! While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue,  bride’s dress, and originality – were owned by Rick’s wedding. I thought that every detail of his simple and bling wedding came together really well. It was not over the top, yet had enough sparkle. It  looked like a joyful, fun, and elegant wedding to be at, and I’m sure viewers (like me) could tell how in love the couple was. Great job Rick!   So how did the other three brides score? David came in second, John in third, and Ryan in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results? What did you think about the groom’s scoring? Do you think if the bride’s judged, the outcome would have been the same?

Please share your thoughts, we want to hear from you!

TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: February 8th

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLC?  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? Here is a recap of the episode:

Who are the Brides?:

Bride, Thais

Bride, Thais

  • Thais, a bride who starts her wedding day with a formal beach ceremony. There are white chairs with black sashes, a white alter with crystal candle holders with black and white candles, and white flowers. Walking down the aisle is Thais’s three little dogs dressed in dress and suit, and then followed by Thais with her dad and step dad. After saying ” I Do”,at their elegant beach-side ceremony, guests enter a ticki hut for cocktail hour. The reception took place under a large white tent sit on the beach. Inside, the black and white colors continued. The table decor included a tall vase with a huge display of white flowers, white patterned linens, and candles. Prior to dinner,  Brazilian dancers entertained guests. The dessert table was a large array of candy, cannoli’s, cupcakes, and  the wedding cake set on different cake stands. All in black and white. Guests danced the night away with the dancers on the dance floor.
  • Rebecca is a bride who wants to bring the elements of nature inside at her wedding. Her ceremony is set inside and featured white rose petals in a swirl shape down the aisle, white stands with black lit lanterns, and a twig archway for the bride and groom to stand under. After personal vows are shared, and announced “husband and wife”, guests enter cocktail hour. Cocktail hour was very friendly, as all the guests greeted each other and made all feel comfortable. Tree branches, greenery, candles, and twigs were all featured inside the reception space. Sharing the groom’s Jamaican background, Jamaican food was served for dinner. With such a friendly group of guests and up beat music, the dance floor was never empty.
  • Wanda a bride who has a brunch wedding set at the Polo club. Her love for Christmas is incorporated into the wedding day decor. The ceremony took place at the lawn on the Polo Field and all lady guests wearing bonnets. The decor consisted of white chairs all set in a circle, red poinsettias, and red rose petals down the aisle.  On the veranda, cocktail hour took place. A large metal tree display had cocktail drinks hanging from it for guests to grab and enjoy. The drink colors were red and green to go with the Christmas theme. To find their seat inside the reception, guests will find their names on a snowflake ornament hanging off the Christmas tree. The reception featured the red and gold colors, a beautiful fireplace, and simple decor on the guest tables. Even in the daytime, guests got on the dance floor.
  • Nataly a bride who loves sparkle and bling. She wears million and millions of dollars of jewelry on, and has to have body guards with her at all times. The wedding begins with cocktail hour prior to the ceremony start. Inside the synagogue, the ceremony took place. There was a white hoopa, with hanging crystals, and crystal chandelier  and white roses. The ceremony was a traditional Jewish ceremony. With the ceremony complete, guests enter a large ballroom for the reception. It had large candelabras with huge flower display on top, crystal candles, purple up lighting, and white draping all around.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I thought was super unique at  Thais’s reception was the large photo of Thais and her groom kissing underwater. I thought the photo was so beautiful and added such a personal touch to the decor. What a unique and super cute idea! I loved it!  I liked that Rebecca  had a signature drink during cocktail hour. It was called ” Don’t you worry about a Ting”. I thought this was perfect for her Caribbean style wedding. Guests seem to enjoy the taste, so that is always a good thing!  I loved Wanda’s dress. It was a lace fitted dress which she also styled with a lace bonnet. It fit her so perfectly and that bonnet was a great touch to go with her wedding location. She looked lovely and sweet.  At Nataly’s wedding, I loved when they had a belly dancer perform for the guests. It was a fun version of entertainment at a wedding and such a great way to get people to join in to dance. Guests seem to really enjoy learning how to shake it like a belly dancer. So fun!

Who won?

Congrats to Wanda

Congrats to Wanda

Congrats to Wanda for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to Fiji.  I was not totally surprised  about the results. I actually thought Thais would have come into first place. However, Wanda’s venue was pretty unique and she was able to pull off a nice Christmas wedding without it being too over the top. All the small and simple Christmas touches worked really well. Way to go Wanda!  So how did the other three brides score? Thais came in second, Nataly in third, and Rebecca in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results? Love to hear from you, so please share!
