TLC’s Four Weddings Sneak Peek: June 6th

It is Thursday and that means it is time for this week’s sneak peak of “Four Weddings” on TLC. Are you ready?   If you have never seen the show, let me tell you a little about it.  This show features four completely different brides who have never met, and attend each other’s weddings with one wedding being deemed “the winner” at the end. The brides rate the food, dress, venue, originality, and overall experience of each wedding, except for their own. At the end, all the scores of each bride are tallied, and the one with the highest score wins an all expenses paid honeymoon.

On tonight’s episode the four brides are :  A bride who walks down the aisle barefoot, a bride who loves yachts, a bride who likes to hula dance, and a bride who goes for the wow factor at her wedding.  Each of these brides share their unique style and taste on their wedding day. Which bride will be your favorite? Which bride’s detail’s will you like the best? Which dress will stand out the most? What ceremony will be the most touching? Which bride do you think will win? What do I think? You will have to wait until Friday where I will provide a re-cap on this episode. All I can tell you know is that you do not want to miss this episode! Some like it hot, and some really don’t. What does that mean? Well, you will have to tune in tonight and find out.

TLC’s Four Weddings airs Thursdays at 9/8c. So set your DVR’s, or watch it live tonight!

Expressionary Events Features Bridal Hot List in a Video Interview

I have some exciting news that I can not wait to share with all of you on this lovely Monday morning. It is so fabulous, that you better sit down for this one. So grab your morning coffee, get comfy, and ready for some pretty amazing information.  Bridal Hot List had their first interview! I had the pleasure to be interviewed by the very talented Wedding Planner and Designer, Carmen Fuentes of Expressionary Events for Expression Spotlight. What an exciting moment for BHL. As chief editor of Bridal Hot List, I shared who we are, what we do, and what type of wedding details we feature on the blog.  I shared how we are not your typical wedding blog, and that we are THE resource for today’s bride, providing the hottest trends and tips. What got my heart bursting with joy was talking about the two (now three) TLC television shows we cover: TLC’s “Four Weddings” and “Something Borrowed, Something New” (added to the list is “I Found the Gown”). What was really great is when I shared some of the pretty exciting moments I have had at BHL. For example,  I had the wonderful opporunity in meeting top stylist, Sam Saboura, and fashion designer Kelly Nishimoto from ” Something Borrowed, Something New”. THAT was amazing because they provided me with some incredible wedding tips and trends. An interesting fact that I spoke of was that not all our readers are brides…we actually have grooms who are really intrigued by the tips and trends we provide. That is something that has motivated us to write more for the grooms. I mean, they are the other piece to the lovely duo of a wedding couple.

What really fills my heart with joy is the chance to share what I truly love and have a passion for. I love my job! How many people can say that? There are so many reasons and to name a few…I am constantly immersed in beautiful weddings, gorgeous inspirations, all the crazy talented people, and making some amazing connections with all of you. The brides and grooms, and wedding junkies are driving this wedding blog which I am so proud of.

I like to say a big THANK YOU to Carmen Fuentes for this truly amazing opportunity!

Recap of TLC’s Special Episode of “Four Weddings”: Grooms Take Over

Did you watch last night’s special episode of “Four Weddings: Grooms Take Over” on TLC?  What did you think about the groom’s view of the weddings? Was it interesting to see what they thought about all the details? If you missed the episode,  here is a recap:

Who are the Grooms?:

  • Ryan is a groom who planned most of the wedding and added touches of butterflies for his bride. The day begins at a beautiful botanical garden outside. Surrounded by greenery and flowers, personal vows were shared at their ceremony. At the end of their ceremony, the groom surprises his bride with a gift. The gift was a box of butterflies, and when opened, they flew out. Cocktail hour was limited to two cheese dishes.  Inside the reception space, there were personal touches throughout. From the jars with little Lego figurines, butterflies, to the first dance. The first dance was a choreographed number by Ryan. The bride changed into a silver sparkle dress to dance with her husband. Even though it was still daytime, guests were on the dance floor.
  • Rick who together with his bride like some bling at their wedding. Their traditional ceremony takes place in a church, featured baby blue bridesmaids dresses, and groomsmen wearing sneakers. Prior to the reception, with four hours to go, the guest grooms enjoy some golf time. The reception was in a country club, and inside the room, were simple decorations. The centerpieces were tall vases with light purple and white flowers. After a heart felt first dance, guests are served dinner. The dance floor is full, as guests dance the night away.
  • John loves to dance and have a good time. His day begins in a church where a Catholic ceremony took place. Ryan’s son stood by him as his best man. The decor was white bows on the pews, and large flower arrangements in the front. The cocktail hour had a variety of food stations. Inside the grand ballroom, it featured stunning chandeliers, a large dance floor, and glass vases with floating candles and  orange colored flowers.  The cake was a four tiered cake with orange flowers cascading down the front. Guests took home a small bottle of wine as a wedding favor. The dancing was for sure happening and Ryan partied on with his wife.
  • David is a chef and created the entire menu for his wedding day. Before any eating, the ceremony took place inside a tall gazebo style room with windows around. The ceremony featured two tree like decor with hanging candles, and colors of purple and green. The beautiful ballroom had hanging chandeliers, purple up lighting, and colors of gold and purple. The centerpiece was a green moss base with branches which had purple flowers and hanging candles. The cake was a purple, and white colored  six tiered cake with a large purple egg as a cake topper. The customized menu was a choice of steak or salmon.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. At Ryan’s wedding I loved the escort cards. But they were not your typical escort cards, They were Lego stands, and a Lego person resembling the person’s character made of Lego. For example, if someone was a police officer  for a profession, their Lego person was a police officer made of Legos. It was the most unique escort card idea I have ever seen.  Super cool and personal. Rick’s cake was absolutely gorgeous. It was a four tiered white cake with a touch of bling. I liked that the bling did not over take the cake. The cake was very elegant and perfect for a wedding.  What I thought was super sweet was that John and his son wore matching tuxedos. I thought this was a great way to involve his son, and make him feel special on such an important day. What I loved at David’s wedding was that they incorporated their dog in the wedding ceremony. I think that dogs are part of the family, and why not include them in your wedding day. I thought it was really cute!

Which groom won? Congrats to Rick for winning!  He won an all expenses paid honeymoon to the Caribbean island of Grenada.  I was not surprised about Rick winning at all, he seemed to deserve it! While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue,  bride’s dress, and originality – were owned by Rick’s wedding. I thought that every detail of his simple and bling wedding came together really well. It was not over the top, yet had enough sparkle. It  looked like a joyful, fun, and elegant wedding to be at, and I’m sure viewers (like me) could tell how in love the couple was. Great job Rick!   So how did the other three brides score? David came in second, John in third, and Ryan in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results? What did you think about the groom’s scoring? Do you think if the bride’s judged, the outcome would have been the same?

Please share your thoughts, we want to hear from you!
