TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: March 8th

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLC?  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? If you missed it, we have a recap of the episode:

Who are the Brides?:

  • Vivian, a bride who loves animals and brunch. She wants to share these two passions on her wedding day. The wedding takes place at a local animal park. The ceremony is set at the tropical garden. Down the aisle, are rose petals and tall vases with flowers immersed in water. After a sweet ceremony, guests are invited a unique cocktail hour. During cocktail hour, there is not just food and drinks, but live animals as well. Guests had the chance to pet animals like  a monkey, a bird, and even a skunk! After some wild fun, guests enter the reception room. Inside it is decorated with colors of winter blue and ivory, from the guest tables with tall centerpieces with lush purple and white hydrangeas, and roses on top, to the winter blue seat cushions. After a brunch buffet, guests got their dance on.
  • Kim adores the color red and incorporates it at her wedding. The color red is also symbolic of her groom’s Korean traditions. The ceremony takes place in the same location as where the reception will take place. The space is decorated with red, black, and white colors. There are glass vases with red orchids and candles submerged in water, candles lining up the white dance floor aisle,  red up lighting, and white drapery hanging above.  After sharing personal vows with each other at the ceremony, they tie the knot and join their guests to celebrate. The dance floor was packed with a whole lot of dancing from the bride and groom, to the bridesmaids and groomsmen, to the guests.
  • Debbie  is bride who loves peacocks and bling. An intimate ceremony for 35 guests is set on the green lawn overlooking the water and golf course. It is decorated with purple rose petals scattered in the aisle, and purple peacock feathers tied to the chairs. The bridesmaids hold  peacock feathers instead of a traditional bouquet, and the groom and his men wear suit vests without the suit jackets. After a heart felt and personal ceremony, guests head to cocktail hour where a peacock martini is featured. The peacock and bling theme is carried to the reception space. The guest tables with turquoise color linens, gold chargers with purple napkins tied with a peacock bling feather, and a centerpiece which was a tall glass vase and on top,  feathers and bling. A little bit of dancing took place and guests got their groove on.
  • Bianca a bride who wants to party with a peacock theme.  Her ceremony is set under a white tent, with turquoise and purple colored lanterns hanging above, white chairs with turquoise color sashes, and a simple decorated alter. After a very touching and personal ceremony which was officiated by Bianca’s mother, guests are invited to drink and eat at cocktail hour. Inside the reception space the peacock colors and feathers were seen throughout. The guest table had a  glass vase full peacock feathers on top,  and purple and white  candle holders with peacock design. The wedding cake was a four tiered white cake, with accents of peacock feathers, and the cake topper was a huge peacock full of feathers. After a wide array of dinner buffet, the wedding had a “power hour”. This was the hour where guests put on their  neon sunglasses (which were the wedding favors), grabbed glow sticks, and other props, and had some fun on the dance floor. High energy for sure.

A Hot Detail:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I thought was fun at Vivian’s wedding was the location of the wedding.  I thought it was a very unique idea and perfect for a girl who loves animals. What a better place to make a memory that will last? What I liked at Kim’s wedding was how she tied in the colors of red, white, and black at her wedding. I liked how her dress had accents of red, from the red in her veil, to the red color that was on her gown’s train. The groom had a white suit with red elements as well. It came together really nice. I loved Debbie’s wedding cake.  The top tier was the cake which was purple with bling, and the other tiers were turquoise and purple colored cupcakes. Super cute and fun!  What I thought was so adorable and unique at Bianca’s wedding was the escort cards. In a bucket, guests would find a lollipop with a photo of their face, and on the back it would list the table number on it.  I have never seen this at any wedding, and thought it was super sweet and personal.

Who won?: Congrats to Bianca for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to the Jamaica   I was not at all surprised about Bianca winning. As soon as I saw her wedding, I knew she was way ahead of the other brides. While I can not account for the food,  I thought that the venue, originality, and overall theme exceeded the rest.  She did not have my favorite dress, however all other elements were amazing. I thought that Bianca put together the peacock idea in a very elegant and chic manner. I really liked all the touches of peacocks without being too over the top. It looked like the guests had a fun time, and I would have loved to be at this wedding! Great job Bianca!  So how did the other three brides score? Vivian came in second, Debbie in third, and Kim in fourth. Were you surprised by the results? Love to hear from you, so please share!
