  • GEO in Azure: Geo is a very modern and contemporary style linen. The designer wanted to show off the octagon shapes of the linen, and did a beautiful job doing it!  To compliment the beautifully designed linen, the designer used an octagon table, utilized tiles sheets for placemats and placed sunglasses as favors. Can you imagine this for a Palm Springs style wedding? Pack your bags now!

TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: September 12th

Good morning Saturday goers! I am not going to delay, and go right into the recap of  last night’s episode of  “Four Weddings” on TLC.  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? Was there one bride which had a total “wow” wedding day? If you missed last night’s episode, don’t worry I have all the details right here. Grab your morning coffee, and sit back and enjoy!

TLC

Who are the Brides?:

  • Diana is the first to wed as she starts her wedding day with a ceremony set outside on a gorgeous lawn at an art center. The backdrop  is lush greenery with a few red colored decorations at the alter. The color red is used to represent the groom’s Chinese culture. The bride walks down on her own, as she holds a cascading floral bouquet. . The bride and groom’s cultures are incorporated into the ceremony. After they kiss as husband and wife, they are ready to celebrate with their guests. The guests make their way to the art center’s lawn for cocktail hour. During the cocktail hour, a sideshow performer entertained guests with some dangerous acts such as swallowing fire, and walking on glass. Following the show, guests enter inside for the reception. The guest tables were named by countries, and boarding passes as the escort cards. The reception decor was blue and yellow colored details,  and each table featured country flags that represented the bride or groom’s background. The dance floor was full of energy and fun.
  • Nicole’s  hardcore purple wedding day begins with some rain, so the ceremony takes place under a white tent. The aisle is decorated with purple rose petals, and hanging mason jars filled with purple flowers. After a fun and lovely ceremony, guests remained in the same space for cocktail hour. Inside the reception space guests pick up their “peas in a pod” escort cards and head to their tables. The reception features stunning chandeliers,  purple uplighting, purple linens, and purple lit centerpieces. Following dinner and dessert, some guests  got on the dance floor and did the polka dance.
  • Melea is ready to take the next step of her road trip and marry the love of her life. The wedding is set at a country club. The ceremony space featured white chairs, red rose petals down the aisle, and red ribbons tied to the chairs. After a heartfelt ceremony where the two shared their own vows, guests head over to the cocktail hour. Cocktail hour features personally food which the couple’s chef taste buds picked out. The reception space is white and red colored decor. White table linens, white chair covers with red sashes, and the centerpiece is red roses surrounded by candles. The wedding cake is a three tiered white cake with red colors and details of the couple’s travels from the West Coast to the East Coast. Following dinner, dancing is all about fun and high energy.
  • Leila is ready to sparkle and shine on her wedding day. Her big day is set in a grand hall with many gorgeous details. The ceremony is a large space with some purple lighting, tall  rhinestone decorated candles lining the aisle, and a arch decorated with white and purple flowers and crystals hanging down. After saying their “I do’s”, the couple makes their exit, while guest head to the cocktail hour. The cocktail hour is full of food, including sushi, clams, fajitas, noodles, and more. You name it, and it is there. The signature drink is a Key Lime Pie Martini with a graham cracker rim. The reception space is a circular room with a huge dome in the center with light shining through it. The reception also features another “cool” detail. The bar was made out of ice. All ice. The night sparkles with dancing, lights, and a party vibe.

A Hot Detail:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. I really loved Diana’s beautiful flower crown. It not only represented her Ukrainian culture, but it was such a gorgeous accessory complimenting her dress. She looked whimsical and very romantic. I could not stop looking at that flower crown, it was simply stunning!    So I have to say I absolutely LOVED the dessert bar at Nicole’s wedding. I love my desserts, and when there is more than wedding cake at a wedding, I am set. Talking about candy, homemade chocolate chip cookies, lemon bars, and more! Yum!  I loved the table numbers at  Melea’s wedding. They were state license plates from all the states that she and Lisa had traveled through together. The theme of road trip romance really showed here. What a personal and lovely detail!  So, this is a first, but I also loved the dessert bar at Leila’s wedding. Yep, thats how much I love desserts and sweets. This dessert bar consists of  a chocolate fondue machine, milk shakes, and more! It was a full of yummy treats!

Who won?: Congrats to Leila for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to Hawaii.   I was not surprised at all about Leila winning.  She was the last bride to show off her wedding, and I had not really thought any of the other weddings had that “wow” factor. So once I saw Leila’s I just knew she was the winning bride.   While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue,  bride’s dress, and originality – really complimented Leila’s wedding theme.  The sparkle and glam was seen in all the details from the ceremony to her wedding cake. Well done Leila!  So how did the other three brides score? Melea came in second, Diana in third, and Nicole in fourth. Were you surprised by the results?  Love to hear from you, so please share!TLC

TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: January 10th

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLCHere is a recap of the episode:

Amber, a bride from this week's TLC episode of "Four Weddings"

Amber, a bride from this week’s TLC episode of “Four Weddings”

Who are the Brides?:

  • Amber a bride together with her groom share their wedding day with their two daughters in a Hawaiian style. Outside, the ceremony took place with hanging tropical flowers along the aisle, orchids hanging on the alter, all surrounded by a serene environment. While the groomsmen played ukulele, the bride was escorted in with her two brothers. Guests enjoyed a traditional Polynesian dance during cocktail hour, giving that Hawaiian feel. Inside the reception, the guest tables had simple decor of orchids submerged in water with candles. Keeping with the Hawaiian theme, the buffet offered a spread of Hawaiian style food. Amber and her groom depart their wedding as sparklers guide their way by their guests.
  • Whitney a high energy bride who loves to dance. The wedding ceremony took place in a romantic garden, “Shakespeare’s garden” in San Francisco. San Francisco can get cold, and this day was cold, so each guest was offered a small blanket to wrap themselves in as they sat in the ceremony. Surrounded by greenery, trees, and some flowers, the couple said ” I do”. Following the ceremony, guests went San Francisco style, and rode on a trolley to get to the reception. The guest tables were decorated with white and pink flowers, candles, and custom made frames. After a Southern style food buffet, guests danced the night away.
  • Christine a bride who is eco friendly and Victorian all at the same time. Guests dress with Victorian inspired hats as they enter the wedding which takes place at the local zoo. The African Savanna plays as the backdrop for the ceremony with Zebras, Antelopes, and birds. Something unique was the story of the rings they exchanged with each other. The rings were the groom’s grandparent’s rings, and they were melted down, and then new rings were formed. The couple made a day of it, and created the new rings. After a ride on the carousel, guests enter the reception space which features different color butterflies on each guest table, a tiger print design inside the piece of cake, a dress change for Christine, and a dance floor full of guests.
  • Shelly  blends her Afghan traditions with Western traditions at her elegant style wedding.  Set on a beautiful golf course, the ceremony features glass jars full of purple and white flowers, white rose petals down the aisle, and a personal friend as the officiant. The reception space had many damask details from the escort cards, table numbers, linens, to the cake. Colors of purple were shown in the room. Traditional Afghan music was played as guests danced the night away.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I loved at Amber’s the unity sand ceremony which was performed with their two daughters. It was not the typical sand ceremony, where you combine two colors of sand into one vase. However, they had a family photo in a frame, and each family member poured a different color of sand into the frame. I thought that was really sweet. I loved it!  OK, so I really loved Whitney’s recessional once they were married. Starting with the bride and groom, and then each bridesmaid and their groomsmen, they danced their way back up the aisle and exited. It totally set the mood for the rest of the wedding. What a fun way to exit!  What I thought was pretty cool at Christine’s  wedding is that guests had a chance to feed giraffes! How neat is that? I think it is something totally unique and very memorable for the couple and their guests.  What I thought was so great at Shelly’s wedding was when her mom applied the henna to guests. This was such a wonderful way to share the culture and tradition with the guests. Really nice gesture.

Who won? Congrats to Whitney for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to St. Lucia.  I was not surprised  at all about Whitney winning it all.  While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, I did like the originality, venue, and the dress for Wendy’s wedding. I really loved all the details of her wedding. From the sweet ambience of the garden ceremony  the personal blankets, the trolley ride to the reception, to the party vibe feel.  I totally wanted to be a guest at this wedding and enjoy all the wonderful elements. Great job Whitney!  So how did the other three brides score? Amber came in second, Shelly in third, and Christine in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results?

Congrats to Whitney for winning!

Congrats to Whitney for winning!

Manzanita Branches Wedding Decor

My favorite wedding decor for the week are manzanita branches. Beautiful branches that can add elegance, chicness, and style to any wedding day. Manzanita Branches shares with us how their branches can be incorporated into the wedding. Branches can be used at ceremony aisles, entrance ways, for cake stands, table centerpieces, guest book table, escort table, and reception decor. Manzanita Branches is open to your ideas and can make it happen. So if you have an idea on how you like to add branches to your special day, Manzanita branches is ready to help.  They are always looking for new ways to use branches for weddings.  The branches are for rent or for sale. Some couples like to buy them and then bring them home and use it as home decor. What a great way to keep the memories from such a important day. Lets take a look at some of the amazing ways these stunning branches add elegance and style to a wedding day.

Neon Inspired Wedding Ideas

Did you ever think that hot pink, hot orange or hot green colors can make it into an elegant wedding setting? LVL Weddings & Events together with some incredible vendors pulled this all off beautifully. I had never seen this done, and was absolutely amazed when I saw how pops of hot colors can make a simple setting come to life.

From Kim at LVL Weddings & Events:

When Jennifer from A Girl and A Camera came to me with the idea for a neon stylized wedding shoot, I was thrilled.  I had already been buzzing with ideas for how to incorporate neon into my next event! Our goal was to inspire and  show brides how to incorporate something unique and fun into their wedding without being over the top. We wanted to share with couples you can be fun, bright and energetic but still pull off an elegant wedding. We also incoporated a few fun DIY projects for our brides to play around with at home.

We used the picnic table provided by the venue, we covered it with a textured white linen, provided by Napa Valley Linens, allowing for the neon colors to pop even more. LVL Weddings & Events made the DIY gold glitter garland and the Mr. and Mrs. signs. The Petal Company provided all the amazing floral arrangement in her DIY spray painted neon pink vases. The model, Kendra, got all dolled up by The Makeup Dolls .

Get ready to be neon inspired!
