The show all takes place at the gorgeous bridal salon, Kleinfeld Bridal in NYC. The show  goes behind-the-scenes  and uncovers the various obstacles every staff member faces to make each bride utterly happy and pleased on what may be the  most important day of her life. The show features not only bridal experts, but emotional brides, opinionated entourages, and dream bridal dresses. At the end of each appointment, the bridal consultant will ask one very important question, “Are you saying Yes to the Dress?”. The answer to this question? Julie wants to find a dress which will compliment her rustic elegant wedding. Kristin does find the perfect gown for her best friend, (she actually tries it on herself!), however Julie is not so sure about it. Debbie, the consultant, steps in and finds a gown with a full skirt and a touch of bling. Will Julie like this choice and “say yes to the dress?”, or will she go home empty handed?

Sneak Peek of TLC’s “Wedding Island” Episode 4: August 1st

Is it Thursday already? And it is the first day of August? Oh my! As they say, time flies when you are having fun. I guess I been having a ton of fun browsing through gorgeous wedding details this week. To add to all the wedding fun, there is another fabulous episode of  TLC’s “Wedding Island”?  I am ready to take a break and enjoy a little island time. Time to relax and watch some wedding fun happen.  If you missed any of the episodes of this show, do not worry, I will catch you up and tell you a bit about this fun wedding reality show.

This show features wedding planner extraordinaire, Sandy Malone and her team as they go through the logistical challenges of coordinating nuptials on Vieques Island, a tiny rock in the Caribbean. Vieques Island is known for its beautiful beaches, incredible and stunning views, and unfortunately, limited resources and supplies.  This island is a perfect destination for any couple who is in love and wants to share their love in the “island” way.  For wedding planner, Sandy who is the only wedding planner on this remote island seven miles off the coast of Puerto Rico, it’s all business. She organizes and coordinates strict schedules, large crews, and endlessly complex details.   Sandy is a wedding planner with determination and wants to just “get it done”. She is the only one who can deliver the most perfect wedding day for her  bride and her groom.  With the current obstacles that exist with this tropical paradise, Sandy and her small team, including her husband,  Bill, must rely on vendors who set their watches to the unpredictable and usually lackadaisical “Island Time”. At the same time,  they have to pray for the weather to be cooperative on wedding day. Then there are the demanding brides-to-be, who will keep pushing until they have the wedding of their dreams.TLC

On tonight’s episode:

Sandy Malone is planning two fabulous weddings for two couples. The first couple is Suzy and  Tony. Suzy and Tony along with their two kids are wanting a Bohemian rustic style wedding theme. They are both very care free and relaxed, and that is what they are looking for on their wedding day. Are they too relaxed? The villa they made reservations for can not accommodate all their guests. Will Sandy find a hotel for the guests during the high season time of year?

TLCThe second couple is Paula and Buddy and they want an intimate beach wedding with their kids. Sandy is planning a special something to incorporate the kids into the wedding ceremony. But will this special detail go smoothly and in time for their wedding day?

Tune in tonight to find out how Sandy and her incredible team plan and create two beautiful weddings!

“WEDDING ISLAND” is on tonight at 10/9c. So set your DVR’s, or watch it live tonight! You will not want to miss this episode.

Sneak Peek of TLC’s “Wedding Island” Episode 3: July 25

I am pretty excited because it  is almost time for the weekend. Yes, I know it is only Thursday, but hey why not get a head start? To help get going on the weekend, how about we go and visit the gorgeous island in the Caribbean and dive into another episode of  TLC’s “Wedding Island”?. Does that sound fabulous or what? I am ready to pack my bags and head to this stunning island. If you missed the first two episodes last week, do not worry, I will catch you up and tell you a bit about this fun wedding reality show.

32194_ep103_209On tonight’s episode:

Sandy Malone is faced with a double wedding weekend. For one the weddings, Sandy and her team need to create a balloon arch that can withstand the Vieques winds, while keeping it fun and gorgeous.  While on the same weekend, only two days prior to the wedding day, the bride requests that she arrive in style-via helicopter! Sandy’s first wedding is for a couple who is pretty adventurous, and wants a waterfront wedding location. The colors are pink and orange, and they like to have the aisle covered with pink and orange rose petals. The second wedding is a couple with a tight budget. They will have balloons instead of flowers, a sister who will play as their DJ, all happening at a gorgeous villa on the island.

How will Sandy and her team be able to pull off a double wedding on the same weekend? Will the helicopter be available for the adventrous bride to arrive in on her wedding day? Will the balloons be able to withstand the island winds? You will have to tune in and find out!

Sneak Peek of TLC’s “Wedding Island” Episode 2

I really loved the premiere of TLC’s new reality wedding show, “Wedding Island” which aired last night.  What did you think about the show? Crazy fun right? I loved watching wedding planner, Sandy Malone pull off the impossible and create a perfect wedding day for couples.   If you missed the episode last night, don’t worry because there is another new episode on tonight. Yep, one more episode of following Sandy Malone and her team run around throughout Vieques Island as they put together a dream wedding for two couples. Sandy is the only wedding planner on the tiny island, and that means, she has to work even harder in making sure all wedding planning is on track and executed beautifully.

32294_053

On tonight’s episode: Sandy Malone has booked two weddings on the same day, (12.12.12.), and that means her team must work extra hard to make this happen!  Sandy faces a demanding bride on one side, and on the other side,  a couple who relies on Sandy to be their planner and their minister.
Bride Jessica and her groom want to have their wedding set at a venue with an ocean-view,  details of lace and turquoise colors, and a sunset ceremony. However, Jessica is one demanding bride, and Sandy wants to make this bride happy. Oh, and did I mention there is some major drama like losing the wedding rings? Will they find it, or will Sandy come to the rescue?
The second wedding, the couple wants to get married at 12:12pm, with a hand fasting ritual at the ceremony, and then a romantic lunch following.  They want a simple and elegant wedding to share their love with each other. This couple is also asking Sandy to officiate their wedding.
So how will Sandy and her team pull off two weddings in one day? Keep in mind there are limited supplies and resources on the island, so how will this all come together smoothly for both weddings? You will have to tune in tonight and find out.
“WEDDING ISLAND” premieres tonight at 10/9c. So set your DVR’s, or watch it live tonight! You will not want to miss this episode.

TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: June 20th

Friday is here! Fridays are the best right? I mean, I love them. Not only does it mean I get to start my weekend, but I get to provide you a recap of one of my favorite wedding shows on TLC. Yep, its a good day for sure! Did you tune into last night’s episode of  “Four Weddings” on TLC?  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? Was there one bride which had a total “wow” wedding day? If you missed it, we have a recap of the episode right here:

Who are the Brides?: TLC

  • Christian is ready to walk down the aisle at a grand cathedral where her ceremony takes place. Inside the cathedral there are high ceiling, stunning details, and a large aisle. The ceremony had little decor, however the bridesmaids wore lavender colored short dresses, each holding a small bouquet.  After a traditional ceremony, the bride and her groom together with their guests light up paper lanterns and release them into the sky. Following, guests go to a night club where the reception takes place. Inside there are many candles, stunning chandeliers, and white flowers. The cake is a three tier white cake with a masquerade mask with feathers as the cake topper  Guests join the bride on the dance-floor as her groom throws dollar bills from above into the crowd. Guests enjoy this unique money dance.TLC
  • Ashley a bride who has planned her wedding since she was a young teenager and is now ready to marry the love of her life.  The day begins outside on the green lawn of the plantation venue.  The alter is rustic with a chandelier hanging in the middle.  Ashley makes her grand entrance for the ceremony on a white horse and carriage. A very Fairytale entrance. After a heartfelt ceremony, the married couple release white doves, and then exit in the horse drawn carriage.  Inside the plantation venue, the reception begins. The space features blue up-lighting, vintage style decor, and tall floral centerpieces. A shout out for the guest bride, Christian for her birthday, and everyone was on the dance-floor having a good time.TLC
  • Courtney  has a love for nature and elegance. Her wedding takes place at a local zoo. First, the ceremony takes place at a church. The decoration consisted of pink and white flowers on the pews, and four grand floral arrangements at the front. After sealing the ceremony with a kiss, guests travel to the zoo for the reception. As guests enter, they are greeted by some of the animals such as an elephant, peacock, and flamingos. Inside the reception space, it is decorated with pink, white, and gold colors. The guest tables have a soft pink linen, gold chargers with pink napkins, gold candleholders, and a few small floral arrangements. The cake was a five tier white and gold cake with some intricate details. After a buffet dinner, the dessert table is set with array of desserts to choose from. At the end of the night there is a second line, and Courtney changes into a short white dress with silver beading on the top.TLC
  • Joy is ready to have a good time at her wedding.  Her wedding day is at a hotel and the ceremony inside. The ceremony space is all white with candles lining the aisle. After a jump over the broom, the couple is ready to party with their guests. The reception space features blue up-lighting, trees with hanging candles and peacock feathers.  After dinner, guests enjoy liquor filled cupcakes. The dance floor was high energy and everyone was packed on the dance floor. A second line joined in and the party continued.

A Hot Detail:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. I really loved Christian’s wedding gown. It was a lace with beading all throughout. This dress was made for her, and she looked gorgeous!  Okay, so this is a first, but I also loved Ashley’s wedding gown as well! Yep. What I absolutely loved about her gown was EVERYTHING! Her dress was a fitted satin mermaid trumpet style with feathers on the top. Totally stunning and simply beautiful. Perfect gown for this bride.    I actually loved the overall style and design at Courtney’s wedding. I loved the romantic feel of it all. All the details were simply gorgeous and elegant.   was a fitted A-line lace dress with a beautiful veil. It was perfect for her vintage style wedding.   What I thought was a “wow” factor at Joy’s wedding reception was the ice luge. The large ice luge had the signature drink flow right down into the guest’s glass. I thought this was super unique and fun for guests. A fun way to get your drink!

Who won?: Congrats to Courtney for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to St. Martin.  I was not surprised at all about Courtney winning.  As soon as I saw her wedding, and all the gorgeous details, I knew she would win.  While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue,  bride’s dress, and originality – were owned by Courtney’s wedding. I loved how it was so romantic and every single detail from the ceremony to the desserts, was absolutely lovely.  Those flowers and the gold and pinks, Swoon!  Every cent spent was worth it! Fantastic job Courtney!   So how did the other three brides score? Ashley came in second, Joy in third, and Christian in fourth. Were you surprised by the results?  Love to hear from you, so please share!

TLC’s Four Weddings Winning Bride: June 13th

Good morning weekenders!  What a gorgeous day it is here at BHL. What is going on outside, well, I will enjoy that a bit later, but for now,  we have the winner of TLC’s “Four Weddings” from this week’s episode. A wonderful Saturday indeed.  The winning bride from Thursday’s episode is Megan! Congrats to this bride and her beautifully planned Southern wedding.  Her vintage and lace wedding scored her a total of 88 points out of 120 points. Here is the breakdown.

Venue: 26 points
Dress:  15 points
Experience: 21points
Food: 26 points

The other three brides really liked the venue and food the best, as she scored the highest in these two categories. The venue was at an old Plantation. Perfect for her vintage Southern wedding. The ceremony took place outside in a gorgeous setting.  All the beautiful details of the old world charm was evident in this venue.  I really loved this venue as well. The ceremony space set outside, and the stunning tent for the outside reception was perfect for this Southern bride. Just lovely.

The food. Well since I can not account for the food, since I was not there to taste it, but from the score of the other brides, it seems that her food was a hit. Good tasting food is such an important element of a wedding. It can it can either leave guests happy and satisfied, or unhappy and starving. So great job Megan for providing something tasty and delicious for your guests to enjoy at your wedding.

Congrats to Megan for winning an all expenses paid honeymoon. After all the planning of her vintage and Southern wedding, together with her husband, she is ready to pack her bags, and journey to a place of relaxation and luxury. Sounds like a great time. Enjoy and have a lovely time Megan, you deserve it!

Who are the Brides?:

  • Karen is ready to marry the love of her life and share that love with her two kids. Her wedding day starts with a evening ceremony set inside a banquet hall. The ceremony space is decorated with simple decor consisting of  many candles and flowers. Karen walked in wearing a mermaid wedding gown with beading all throughout.  The ceremony was personalized with the bride’s uncle officiating  personal vows were shared, and all included were Karen’s two boys.  After the kiss, the two love birds were handcuffed together as they exited the ceremony. Just adjacent to the ceremony location, the reception room was ready for the guests. The centerpieces featured vases with candles floating on top, a single rose, candles, and all on top of a square mirror.  After a buffet which consisted of sandwiches, the guests joined the couple and danced the night away.
  • Michelle a bride who is ready to dazzle her guests with purple colored details. Her ceremony is set at a church with purple details all throughout. The pews are decorated with purple bows, the alter is decorated with white and purple flowers, and greenery. The bridesmaids all wearing purple dresses with purple flowers tied with a silver ribbon. After a heartfelt ceremony, and jumping over the broom, guests enter into the reception space. The centerpieces were very simple, and the four tiered white cake had touches of bling. Michelle had a dress change, and her second dress was a V-necked short white dress with some sparkle. After the wedding festivities, the couple exited their wedding with a red sports car.
  • Megan is a bride who goes Southern with a vintage style at her wedding. Her wedding is set at an old plantation with the ceremony outside. The ceremony featured white chairs, a white alter with pink and white flowers, and a picket fence on the sides of the alter. The aisle was decorated with tin cans filled with baby’s breath hanging off the chairs. Megan’s brother walked her down the aisle and then joined her groom at the alter. During the vows, the groom’s daughter joined the couple.  After the “I Do’s”, the couple exit the ceremony and the guests go inside the plantation for cocktail hour. The reception took place under a white tent outside. The guest tables featured a simple centerpiece. Candles and baby breath flowers. The cake was four tiered cream colored with lace, and a flower arrangement on top.
  • Tamika is ready to “wow” her guests at her over the top bling wedding. The wedding took place at the famous Superdome where the New Orleans Saints play football.  Outside the Superdome, the ceremony took place with very minimal decor. A white aisle runner, crystal chandeliers down the aisle, and chairs with purple sashes.  After the exchange of the rings and the kiss, the ceremony is complete. The reception took place at the club close by.  Simple tables with rhinestone candles, white lounge furniture, and purple up lighting.  The cake table had a personalized crystal centerpiece and featured four cakes all decorated with bling and flowers. When the second line started, guests danced from the inside all the way to the outside.

A Hot Detail:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I thought was so super unique and personal at Karen’s wedding was the cake. Her four tiered cake complimented her wedding gown, with all the bling and other gorgeous details. I thought this made her cake very personalized and memorable.  What I absolutely loved at Michelle wedding was the second line featuring a brass band. There were purple umbrellas and lots of high energy! I thought it was something fun for guests to enjoy . Very memorable!   I adored Megan’s  bridal gown. It was a fitted A-line lace dress with a beautiful veil. It was perfect for her vintage style wedding.   At Tamika’wedding ceremony was her grand entrance. She came in with a white horse and carriage. It looked like Cinderella’s carriage.  A total “wow” factor, and perfect for a princess bride!

Who won?: Congrats to Megan for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to Ancient Israel.  I was not surprised about Megan winning at all, she seemed to deserve it! As soon as I saw her wedding, I knew that she would win. I loved it! Her wedding did not compare to the rest. I loved it all!  While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, all the other details – venue,  bride’s dress, and originality – were owned by Megan’s wedding. I thought that every detail of her Southern vintage theme was absolutely perfect. Her flowers, the dress, the gorgeous venue, and that cake, was all amazing. Simply beautiful! Great job Megan!  So how did the other three brides score? Tamika came in second, Michelle in third, and Karen in fourth. Were you surprised by the results?  Love to hear from you, so please share!
