TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: February 22nd

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLC?  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? If you missed it, we have a recap of the episode:

Who are the Brides?:

  • Irina, a bride who wants to share her Russian traditions and then some. What a better place than to have a wedding at a Russian restaurant. Inside the restaurant, there are tall ceilings, beautiful artwork. red and white colored decor, and some Christmas decorations. The room is laid out in theater style, with guest tables on three different levels. The ceremony started with the bridesmaids in their short red dresses, and then the bride with her parents walking her down the aisle. Under white drapery with red and white flowers, the couple stands. After breaking of the glass, they are married. After enjoying cocktail hour and appetizers, Irina and her husband enter from above and float down while inside a Russian egg structure. Dinner is served and guests seem to really enjoy it.
  • Dana is a bride who loves the outdoors and has a ranch style wedding. The day starts outside at a horse ranch, where the ceremony takes place. The ceremony chairs are arranged in a circle under a tree, surrounded by white rose petals. Around the circle of chairs are mason jars with candles in them. At sunset, the ceremony begins and the bride enters from a old classic white car.  During cocktail hour, guests can enjoy seeing the horses in their stables. The reception inside had a rustic and warm feel. The tables had burlap, gold chargers, candles, and white flower centerpieces. On the dance-floor during crazy hour, Santa shows up, and dances with all the guests.
  • Geysell is a bride who is in love with all things Paris. She has a french style wedding with all the Parisian elements. The ceremony took place outside surrounded by tall trees, and waterfalls. Down the red colored aisle runner,  the groomsmen wore Latin style outfits, and the bridesmaids in green long dresses. After cocktail hour and some appetizers, guests are invited inside a rustic style space for the reception. There was a long rectangular table in the middle and then round tables around. The guest tables had a champagne colored over lay linens, gold satin napkins, and a green, white, and pink flower centerpieces in a gold vase. Following dinner, there was a nice array of desserts including macaroons made by the bride.  During the “crazy hour”, there were sexy lady dancers dancing with all the guests.
  • Kimberly loves romance and the color red.She went with the white hot romance theme for her wedding.  Her wedding took place at a golf course clubhouse. The day begins on the golf course, where her ceremony takes place. On the gazebo, there are red roses and other red flowers with hanging crystals. Down the aisle, there is white draping with red roses tied to the white chairs.  The ceremony featured her two dogs dressed in suits, and then the bride and her father down the aisle. Inside the clubhouse the colors of red and white are seen throughout. The guest tables had a white tree with hanging candles and crystals, all inside a crystal box full of red roses. The dance floor featured drummers and guests danced the night away.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I thought was super unique at  Irina’s reception was the Russian performance. There were dancers, music, acrobatic dancers, magic, and a tiger. Yes, a tiger! I thought that it was a great idea to include this type of entertainment. I thought it tied in to the whole Russian theme. It was amazing!   I fell in love with the personal vows that the Dana and her groom shared at their ceremony. It was personal and from the heart, pure romance. I just love when couples share their love with each other in this manner.  I loved Geysell’s brooch bouquet! I think it was so beautiful and a nice touch for her French theme. I loved the colors and how it went well with the whole color scheme of her wedding.  At Kimberly’s  wedding, I absolute loved her wedding cake. It was a six tier white cake with red roses and bling. I thought it was very romantic and was perfect for her romantic wedding theme. So stunning!

The winner, Kimberly

The winner, Kimberly

Who won?: Congrats to Kimberly for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to the coast of Barbados. So I am not totally surprised about Kimberly winning. While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, I did like the originality, venue, and the dress at Kimberly’s wedding. She has mentioned that she had planned her wedding by watching this show of “Four Wedding”. You know what? It paid off!  All the details of red, white, and romance were put together so beautifully. Kimberly  planned a romantic affair. Great job Kimberly!   So how did the other three brides score? Dana came in second, and guess what? Irina and Geysell tie for third place! Were you surprised by the results? Love to hear from you, so please share!

TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: February 8th

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLC?  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? Here is a recap of the episode:

Who are the Brides?:

Bride, Thais

Bride, Thais

  • Thais, a bride who starts her wedding day with a formal beach ceremony. There are white chairs with black sashes, a white alter with crystal candle holders with black and white candles, and white flowers. Walking down the aisle is Thais’s three little dogs dressed in dress and suit, and then followed by Thais with her dad and step dad. After saying ” I Do”,at their elegant beach-side ceremony, guests enter a ticki hut for cocktail hour. The reception took place under a large white tent sit on the beach. Inside, the black and white colors continued. The table decor included a tall vase with a huge display of white flowers, white patterned linens, and candles. Prior to dinner,  Brazilian dancers entertained guests. The dessert table was a large array of candy, cannoli’s, cupcakes, and  the wedding cake set on different cake stands. All in black and white. Guests danced the night away with the dancers on the dance floor.
  • Rebecca is a bride who wants to bring the elements of nature inside at her wedding. Her ceremony is set inside and featured white rose petals in a swirl shape down the aisle, white stands with black lit lanterns, and a twig archway for the bride and groom to stand under. After personal vows are shared, and announced “husband and wife”, guests enter cocktail hour. Cocktail hour was very friendly, as all the guests greeted each other and made all feel comfortable. Tree branches, greenery, candles, and twigs were all featured inside the reception space. Sharing the groom’s Jamaican background, Jamaican food was served for dinner. With such a friendly group of guests and up beat music, the dance floor was never empty.
  • Wanda a bride who has a brunch wedding set at the Polo club. Her love for Christmas is incorporated into the wedding day decor. The ceremony took place at the lawn on the Polo Field and all lady guests wearing bonnets. The decor consisted of white chairs all set in a circle, red poinsettias, and red rose petals down the aisle.  On the veranda, cocktail hour took place. A large metal tree display had cocktail drinks hanging from it for guests to grab and enjoy. The drink colors were red and green to go with the Christmas theme. To find their seat inside the reception, guests will find their names on a snowflake ornament hanging off the Christmas tree. The reception featured the red and gold colors, a beautiful fireplace, and simple decor on the guest tables. Even in the daytime, guests got on the dance floor.
  • Nataly a bride who loves sparkle and bling. She wears million and millions of dollars of jewelry on, and has to have body guards with her at all times. The wedding begins with cocktail hour prior to the ceremony start. Inside the synagogue, the ceremony took place. There was a white hoopa, with hanging crystals, and crystal chandelier  and white roses. The ceremony was a traditional Jewish ceremony. With the ceremony complete, guests enter a large ballroom for the reception. It had large candelabras with huge flower display on top, crystal candles, purple up lighting, and white draping all around.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I thought was super unique at  Thais’s reception was the large photo of Thais and her groom kissing underwater. I thought the photo was so beautiful and added such a personal touch to the decor. What a unique and super cute idea! I loved it!  I liked that Rebecca  had a signature drink during cocktail hour. It was called ” Don’t you worry about a Ting”. I thought this was perfect for her Caribbean style wedding. Guests seem to enjoy the taste, so that is always a good thing!  I loved Wanda’s dress. It was a lace fitted dress which she also styled with a lace bonnet. It fit her so perfectly and that bonnet was a great touch to go with her wedding location. She looked lovely and sweet.  At Nataly’s wedding, I loved when they had a belly dancer perform for the guests. It was a fun version of entertainment at a wedding and such a great way to get people to join in to dance. Guests seem to really enjoy learning how to shake it like a belly dancer. So fun!

Who won?

Congrats to Wanda

Congrats to Wanda

Congrats to Wanda for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to Fiji.  I was not totally surprised  about the results. I actually thought Thais would have come into first place. However, Wanda’s venue was pretty unique and she was able to pull off a nice Christmas wedding without it being too over the top. All the small and simple Christmas touches worked really well. Way to go Wanda!  So how did the other three brides score? Thais came in second, Nataly in third, and Rebecca in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results? Love to hear from you, so please share!

TLC’s New Show: Something Borrowed, Something New Sneak Peek: February 8th

This week I am very excited to share a sneak peek of TLC’s new show, “Something Borrowed, Something New” which premieres tonight at 10/9c.  This show follows a bride’s journey to find the perfect wedding dress for her big day. However there is a twist!  The bride will have to choose a new designer bridal gown, or a fashionably redesigned family heirloom. Who will help the bride find something new and something borrowed for her special day? Each episode is hosted by designer Kelly Nishimoto and stylist Sam Saboura, who will work with the bride to help choose between two dress options. Kelly will turn a special, previously worn gown into a gown which is for the time, venue, and personality of the bride. The bride will also have a chance to work with Sam in shopping at a bridal salon to find a brand new stylish dress. What happens next? The bride will have to make a very important decision and choose between a one-of-a kind dress and a newly fashionable piece. Will the bride choose her mother’s wedding gown, or find something new and unique to her? Which one will the bride choose?

On tonight’s episode, the bride wants to be a classic bride and is looking for a dress with lace, not a lot of bling, and with some added latina flair. Her mother, however has some other ideas for what she wants her daugher to wear on her big day. What dress will she wear? Will it be a dress that Sam finds for her, or one that Kelly redesigns? Which one will the bride choose to wear on her big day?  You will have to watch tonight to find out. You won’t want to miss!

TLC’s Something Borrowed, Something New airs Friday at 10/9c. So set your DVR’s, or watch it live Friday night!

TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: February 1st

Did you watch Friday night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLC?  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? Here is a recap of the episode:

Who are the Brides?:

TLC's "Four Weddings", bride Emily

TLC’s “Four Weddings”, bride Emily

  • Kara, a bride who wants class and sophistication at her wedding who starts the day with a Catholic ceremony.  Pops of purple color down the aisle, and sharing their vows facing their guests, the ceremony was lovely and sweet. A beautiful venue sets the scene for Kara’s reception. First, guests join cocktail hour with a variety of food stations. Inside the reception, featured  purple up-lighting, stunning chandeliers, windows, and tall flower centerpieces. Glow sticks handed out, and the night of dancing filled the dance floor.
  • Kristin is a bride who had her mother plan all the details of her wedding. She shows up the day of and is ready to be married. The ceremony is a traditional Catholic ceremony set in a beautiful church. With a late kiss, the couple walks out to bubbles and cheers. The yacht club was where the cocktail and reception took place. Cocktail hour featured an array of food including a hot pretzel and hot dog station.  Guests walk into a elegant ballroom which was beautifully decorated. The table centerpieces were tall trees with hanging candles and red flowers. Like the bride and groom, their guests like to dance and have a good time.
  • Chrissy a bride who is simple, yet loves graphic designs. Her ceremony is not in a church like the first two brides. Instead, the ceremony is set outside on the green lawn with the mountains and trees as the backdrop. The aisle had hanging blue vases with yellow flowers.Personal vows were shared and the couple was married. The chevron design was evident throughout Chrissy’s wedding decor. What the cocktail hour did not have was shots. No shots were to be served that evening. One of the guest brides were not so happy about that.  The reception set inside a white tent, had guest tables which featured the chevron style table runners, blue vases with unique yellow flowers, and candles. After dancing the night away, all the guests including the bride and groom  hold onto sparklers to end the day.
  • Emily a bride who loves the Christmas holiday, and has a winter wonderland wedding. Set in a church, the wedding day begins with a ceremony decorated with lighted Christmas trees, green garlands hanging above, and red poinsettias. The ceremony began with Emily’s dog as the ring bearer, walking down the aisle.  Following Emily and her groom in their old classic taxi cab, guests arrive at the rooftop of a nearby hotel for cocktail and reception. The reception space had booths and round tables for guests, with tall flower centerpieces with gold and silver colors, gold candles, all with New York City skyline as the backdrop.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I loved at Kara’s reception was the huge array of desserts. Desserts consisted of a fondue station, cakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and a sundae bar. Even though I could not taste the desserts, however just having all that variety of sweets will make any one smile. There is something for everyone’s taste. For that, I think Kara did awesome with dessert.  I really loved Kristin’s dress. It was traditional style: It was fitted with a beaded top, and a full skirt. Her veil was simple with some sparkle.  I also really loved her hair piece which went perfectly with her dress.  At Chrissy’s wedding, I absolutely loved her overall bridal look. I thought her dress, veil, bouquet, make-up and hair, all came together perfectly. I really liked the pops of pink color. Just so pretty and cute! I have to say that I actually liked Emily’s Christmas holiday decor. It was not like Christmas threw up on their wedding day. It was very tasteful and all the decor elements came together really well. I loved the decor at the ceremony and church. The silver and gold colors were great!

Who won? Congrats to Kristin for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to Turks and Caicos.  I had guessed that either Kristin or Emily would be in first place. So I am not totally surprised about Kristin winning. While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, I did like the originality, venue, and the dress at Kristin’s wedding. Her mother’s planning all paid off well. All the details came together beautifully. Great job to Kristin and Kristin’s mom for a job well done.  So how did the other three brides score? Emily came in second, Chrissy, in third, and Kara in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results?

Kristin, the winner

Kristin, the winner

TLC’s Four Weddings Episode Recap: January 25th

Did you watch last night’s episode of “Four Weddings” on TLC?  What are your thoughts of the four brides and their weddings? What details stood out for you? Here is a recap of the episode:

Who are the Brides?:

  • Kale, a bride who is non-traditional and wants to dance the night away at her wedding. Being non traditional, the wedding takes place at a Design Center in San Francisco, California. The ceremony featured some elegant decor of beautiful trees, candles, and white orchids. Prior to the Kale walking down the aisle, there was a dance piece performed by a dancer.  Personal vows were shared with each other and also with Kale’s daughter. Variety of food buffet style, simple tree flower centerpieces, and a personal dance from the bride, all featured at Kale’s reception. Four costume changes took place with Kale: ceremony, dance performance, dance cocktail dress, and a dress for cutting cake and end of evening.
  • Jennifer cruises with her groom and all her guests around San Francisco Bay on her wedding day. Prior to ceremony, champagne was handed to each guest. On the top deck of the yacht, the ceremony took place with silver and purple colors, and a ivy covered arch. Down at the lower deck of the boat, the reception took place with decor of white linens, glass vases with orchids floating inside, candles, and purple sashes on chairs.
  • Christa a bride who has waited 12 years to say ” I do”, gets married on a golf course.  The ceremony was set with white tulle and black bows down the aisle, a white rose decorated alter, all with a backdrop of the golf course. After a short ceremony, guests go inside for the reception. The colors of Christa’s wedding were black and white with some bling. The centerpieces were glass vases with white flowers, and rhinestones. The tables had white linens, black sashes on the chairs, and wedding favors packaged in small black boxes.
  • Araceli a bride who features some of her Mexican heritage at her wedding. Set in a beautiful garden setting, the ceremony featured a gazebo with hanging jewels, white roses flowers, and tall green trees. Once they both were under the gazebo, in their ceremony, they had a wedding laso put around them which was part of the Mexican ceremony tradition. The cocktail hour had passed appetizers, food stations, and the Mariachi band playing in the background. The reception was also set outside on the green lawn with the lovely trees around. Her something blue colors was evident in her decor. The guest tables had  silver rhinestone chargers, and white vase with white, blue, and purple flowers. There was also blue lighting on the trees. The dance floor had line dancing, and full of energy and fun.

Cool factor:  There was one detail from each wedding that stood out for me. What I loved at Kale’s reception was the ice cream bar. I know I did not taste the ice cream, however it looked so good and you can not go wrong with ice cream. I think besides the wedding cake, it gives guests something fun and good to have for dessert. Who does not like ice cream?    I liked the personal touch that  Jennifer  had for her wedding favors. Jennifer and her family made ring shaped cookies for all their guests. I also liked that the bride herself handed them out to each guest as they walked off the boat. What a great personal touch! What I thought was really sweet at Christa’s wedding was the Southern Rock music tribute to her dad who had passed away a few years ago. I thought it was a great way to bring energy and love to such a special day in Christa’s life.  At Araceli’s wedding, she wanted to incorporate her Mexican heritage, and so at the processional, a Mariachi Band played music. As Araceli and her groom walked the aisle, and then guests then followed, the Mariachi band played. I thought this was very unique and a great way to incorporate the Mexican culture.

Who won? Congrats to Kale for winning!  She and her husband won an all expenses paid honeymoon to Caribbean islands. I was not surprised  at all about the results.  While I can not account for the food since I wasn’t actually there, I did like the originality, venue, and the dress at Kale’s wedding. Her non-traditional style wedding really showed with four costume changes, a design center as the wedding location,  and her personal dance that she performed. Way to put on a great wedding, Kale!  So how did the other three brides score? Christa came in second, Araceli in third, and Jennifer in fourth place. Were you surprised by the results?
