Idea and inspiration behind the shoot:
One word: Piñata! The idea and inspiration came from my obsession of piñatas. As a child I had a few piñata birthday parties, and it was always filled with great joy and happiness. I always looked forward to hitting that piñata and seeing all the candy fall to the ground to rush and grab as many candies as my little hands could hold. It was a happy day! Since I am totally in love with weddings, and that is one of the happiest day of a couple’s life, I wanted to incorporate my love of piñatas into a wedding day. I really loved the idea of adding a bit more bright and bold colors, and fun to the wedding day. The piñata was not just a décor piece, but I actually wanted the bride and groom to hit the piñata and see the joy in their faces. I really wanted to make couples and their guests feel that joy and happiness that I felt as a child, and really make their wedding day a total party! When choosing the team of vendors to join me on this shoot, I have to say, it was easy and with no doubt knew they would make this an incredible day! As soon as I uttered the word piñata and Cinco de Mayo inspired wedding, everyone was on board. The best part? Everyone went beyond my expectations, and that made for such an awesome day! My piñata and wedding loving heart was totally happy.
