From Pop the Champagne

When I first met Jenn, she said, I want my colors to be pink and sparkle! I knew this couple would be a blast to work with and their wedding would be full of fun and personality.
The pops of hot pink added some fun but stayed classy against a mostly black, white and silver color scheme. The centerpiece of the décor was definitely the gorgeous flowers! Commerce Flowers put together really glamorous pieces with lots of bling. The ceremony site at Terranea is pretty as it is, but Commerce decked out the space and took it to the next level. Jenn and Matt love New Orleans so we incorporated some fun details to reflect the city. Their signature drink was “His and Her-Ricanes” and they had a traditional New Orleans style brass band for cocktail hour.

From the bride…
The wedding of Jennifer Roth and Matthew Lifson, May 31, 2014 Terranea Resort, Racho Palos Verdes CA We decided to get married in Los Angeles where we live, but really wanted the weekend to feel like a vacation somewhere far away. Our families are from Dallas and Minneapolis, but we wanted all guests, even those from LA to have a true getaway where everyone could celebrate and relax together. Terranea was absolutely perfect – it is 45 minutes from our home but feels like a million miles away. Our ceremony was on a cliff’s edge overlooking the Pacific and I was praying to weather gods that the famous June gloom wouldn’t set in and thankfully we had a perfect blue sky throughout! Matt and I also LOVE New Orleans, so we hired a New Orleans Jazz band for our cocktail hour and made special, New Orleans-themed specialty cocktails including the “His and Herricane” and “The Frenchman” The colors for the day were White, Hot Pink and a little glitter thrown in for good measure. The bride wore a stunning Maggie Sottero dress and spectacular Swarovski Crystal Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. We opted to have a black tie wedding at this gorgeous venue, but wanted the event to be anything but stuffy! We love to have fun and wanted to make sure that everyone enjoyed a great party, with great music (90’s hip hop and R&B a must) and drinks aplenty! Everything about the reception was just amazing- our DJ was fantastic, the food was incredible and Matt’s brother gave a toast – or rather a roast- that just brought the house down! We even ended the night with tons of Krispie Kremes for the guests – the perfect ending to the perfect day.

Sneak Peek of TLC’s “Something Borrowed, Something New” Season 3 Premiere

I have been dying about today’s feature. It is a real special one.  It has been so hard to keep this one from all of you, but today I can finally share and so excited! One of our favorite Bride Day TLC shows are back for season 3, and with a very special premiere episode.  TLC’s SOMETHING BORROWED, SOMETHING NEW is back with their third season, and it looks like its going to be a great one! Before getting into tonight’s sneak peek episode, lets tell you a bit about the show.

This show follows a bride’s journey to find the perfect wedding dress for her big day. However there is a twist!  The bride will have to choose a new designer bridal gown, or a fashionably redesigned family heirloom. Who will help the bride find something new and something borrowed for her special day? Each episode is hosted by designer Kelly Nishimoto and stylist Sam Saboura, who will work with the bride to help choose between two dress options. Kelly will turn a special, previously worn gown into a gown which is for the time, venue, and personality of the bride. The bride will also have a chance to work with Sam in shopping at a bridal salon to find a brand new stylish dress. What happens next? The bride will have to make a very important decision and choose between a one-of-a kind dress and a newly fashionable piece. Will the bride choose her mother’s wedding gown, or find something new and unique to her? Which one will the bride choose?

Tonight’s first episode features a bride who shocks Sam so much, he is actually speechless. The bride is his co-host, Kelly Nishimoto! Yep, and she has come with her sister-in-law to talk to Sam about her wedding dress dream. Since Kelly will be too busy with wedding plans, she has brought in star of TLC’s BRIDE BY DESIGN Heidi Elnora, who steps in to transform Kelly’s “something borrowed” dress into a newly imagined piece of bridal couture, while Sam takes Kelly dress shopping for the first time. So now Kelly has choose between the newly designed bridal gown, or a brand new dress Sam helps her find. So which one will she end up wearing for her LA wedding? You will have to tune in tonight and find out! We are so excited we are counting down the hours.
