About Drybar

Founded by longtime stylist Alli Webb and her brother Michael Landau, a former Yahoo! marketing executive, and her husband Cameron Webb, a creative director. First location opened February 2010 in Los Angeles (Brentwood). Currently operating 30 locations in CA, AZ, TX, NYC, DC, MD and GA. Upcoming locations include hot spots Houston, Chicago and Boston. Drybar does about 100,000 blowouts a month and currently employs 2,000+ people and counting.

Drybar’s concept is best summarized by its trademarked tagline: “No cuts. No color. Just blowouts.” Drybar charges a flat fee of $40 regardless of hair length, style or tools used.

There are six signature styles at Drybar that are aptly named after drinks:

  • Straight Up – Simple and straight
  • Manhattan – Sleek and smooth
  • Southern Comfort – Big hair and volume
  • Cosmopolitan – Lots of loose curls
  • Mai Tai – Messy and beachy
  • Shirley Temple – Preteen blowout

Drybar’s branding proudly features its official mascot, Buttercup (the upside down yellow blow dryer), found all over its shops and website! The prototype design of Drybar was created by award-winning architect Josh Heitler of New York-based firm Lacina Heitler. ( Josh is also a partner in Drybar.) Each shop is carefully crafted to look and feel like a comfy, chic “bar” instead of a typical salon. Signature elements include fabric paneled and tufted walls, marble countertops, Italian styling chairs, flat screen TVs playing“chick flicks,” iPhone charging docks at each station and custom music playlists.

For Brides and their girls…

Drybar has a VIP room in most locations that people can rent out for private parties.  In this case, a bride can rent the room out for just her and her bridesmaids for wedding day preparations.  Of course complimentary drinks and chick flicks are offered.   Drybar also does what’s called an UpTini which is a fancy bar themed name for an Up Do.  Drybar is like your one stop shop for all things bridal hair!
